JanH, I may just have to pack up and move to Norway!
$30,000/year for a low-end job is not that bad at all! What's the average income there for automotive technicians?
Mike.
being from the uk i find the cost of living high, but according to most its much cheaper to live in the usa,i mean food is cheaper, fuel is cheaper,hi-fi is cheaper,i bet everything is cheaper, why the hell is it cheaper in the usa.
so if im wrong convince me why im better off in the uk.

Reading these rent prices really makes me feel lucky. I pay $300/month for a 1-bedroom in the downtown historic district. Brick house, basement apartment, central heat and air - that's with a unit specifically for each apartment, water paid for by the landlord, and it even has a neat skylight.
I make pretty good money, well above average for my job in this area or even nationwide. So I just have to wonder to myself just how much does one have to earn to pay $1000 or $2000 in rent and why they're spending that kind of money to rent in the first place. Rent is money that you never see again. If you're going to spend $2000 a month, why not invest it in buying a house?

I'm retracting my suggestions in favor of LyinEyes and Nowaytess' entries.

i will be conducting weekday polls and posting the tallies.

Let me ask something, since it's an item in the survey. If you shower in the morning do you also shower in the evening, making for two baths a day?
Personally I've always taken a shower in the evening as soon as I get home but never felt the need for another the next morning. Ok, unless there was a hot date the night before but those are few and far between for me.
Mike.
this isn't jw related, but i was hoping to get some feedback on a problem that i'm having.. here's the deal.
yesterday my downstairs neighbor told the maintenance man that she want to shoot us (my family).
i've known for about 2 years that she has some mental problems and was somehow focused on us, but i didn't realize to what extent.. two years ago, around christmas, we came home from somewhere and saw 2 christmas cards laying on the rug outside our door.
Siegswife, she's made the threat to shoot you so you should assume she has a gun or access to one and act accordingly.
There was this "sister" in our congregation years ago who was well-known as being crazy. Extreme paranoia, everyone was "out to get her". But no one took her seriously, she was just an older woman with mental problems and thus viewed as "harmless". One day my dad and I stopped by her house while out in service, kind of an informal "shepherding call" if you will. During the conversation, which was primarily about who was out to get her, she proudly displayed a loaded .38 Special.
The point is, don't assume someone isn't armed because they're crazy.

I like "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister, but just a thought, how about "When The Children Cry" by White Lion?
Mike.
a simple point but well worth repeating is that just as it took.
many gradual steps to 'come in the truth', so also it takes many.
gradual adjustments to leave it!.
Metatron, of all your posts that has become my favorite. I'd suggest that from time to time you re-post it.

us university sued over koran class.
religion and education in the us are an awkward mix .
a us university that included a book on the koran in a class for new students is being sued by a christian organisation and a group of students.
Frank, I have to go with O'Reilly on the issue of an attorney for Moussaui (sp?). He was a foreigner who conspired with other foreigners and foreign governments (you know as well as I do that Iraq and probably others were in on it) to commit an act of war against the United States. What he should get in the way of legal representation is some incompetent trainee from the local public defender's office like most other poverty-level AMERICAN CITIZENS end up with. And that in my opinion is more than he deserves.
And for all you Islam defenders out there, I'll feel a lot more comfortable with your faith when I see the Islamic nations start handing over terrorists instead of dancing in the streets when innocent Americans die.

Hit 'snooze' once and only once at 6am. And I don't go back to sleep, I just lay there for a few minutes.
Get up and start drinking coffee. I've got one of those coffee makers with a timer so the coffee's ready and waiting.
No news or newspaper. I turn on Rock 92.3 and listen to "The Givers" Lex and Terry my favorite morning radio show.
No lovemaking unfortunately. I live alone. But I don't put on any clothes quite yet either.
No cigarette. I can't stand the taste or smell first thing in the morning. I don't smoke until sometime in the afternoon.
No pets to let in or out, my landlord nixed that cute little puppy I told y'all about. He did let me keep my cockatiel though but she doesn't count since she doesn't go outside.
By 6:45 or 6:50 I'm dressed and heading out the door. That gives me time to get breakfast and still make it in to work early.

i am talking about underwear.... what do you put on if anything???.
i myself---either go with thongs----or nothing .
spice of the likes to feel free class
Well if you must know....
Fruit Of The Loom boxer-briefs for work. Comfort and just the right amount of support. Like Kramer said, "my boys need a house", but not too tight of one.
The rest of the time....well my boys don't stay in the house all day, let's put it that way.
