Urgent response needed
by benext ina relative has been admitted to the hospital due to their blood count going from 7-4. the first hospital wanted to transfuse but a transfer was arranged to another who works with the society's hospital committee.
they have instructed which doctor to request and the elders are standing guard.
i'd like to find out how low can blood levels go and are there any other treatments outside of transfusion.

I went by the hospital last night. Tests are scheduled for today. I found out the injections are for iron. At first, the person would not speak to me directly and would talk to and through the other person there. I didn't stay long.

Elders searching for long disassociated ones
by Gretchen956 ini have heard of a couple cases in the last year where this happened, and i wonder if its happened to anyone else.. one of my acquaintances from another list moved from portland back to his homestate of maine.
he moved to a small town near the town where he was associated, but had not been associated for over 12 years.
the elders tracked him down after all that time and said they wanted to have a committee meeting so that they could disfellowship him.

An elder from my former cong. asked family members to ask me if it were okay for him to get my address. I wanted to know why and they didn't know, so I declined. This fellow has my phone number and the local cong. has my phone and address so I have no clue as to why they're playing this game.

Thank you all for your enlightening and positive responses. One of the sad things about this is there are children being taken care of by this person who will have to fall to the care of (?). The congregation will be sad up until the funeral ends and move on with their lives.

Thanks for all replies. I just spoke to someone who finished a visit. The person is being shown how to inject themselves with something to build the blood up. I don't know the name but it's to be done once a week. I was provided with the phone number but since I left the org. the person has pretty much shunned me although I'm not DF or DA'd while continuing to associate and welcome over other relatives who are DF'd. Our conversations have been brief and strained. I want to go visit after work but there may be certain people there who I have no interest in seeing.

This morning I rode the bus with an elder from my former circuit. He asked if he would see me this weekend. Knowing my ex-JW group doesn't meet until the 21st, I told him no. He informed me that the A & B portions of the circuit had been merged. He also said he "heard" one of the two congregations meeting in his hall would be dissolved. He didn't look happy.
Then he asked me how I was doing. Couldn't he tell by the smile on my face?

Prince Performs!
by benext inprince popped up as a surprise guest around midnight at in style magazine's party following sunday's awards show.
he played guitar on "brickhouse" and his signature hit "kiss," but left the singing to the band.
after two songs, he blew a quick kiss to the crowd and hopped off the stage.

Nick Lachey stood on a pink-cushioned bench near the back of the room to get a look as his wife, Jessica Simpson, hurried down front. Alicia Silverstone, Kevin Costner, Jim Belushi, Lance Bass and Clint Eastwood were among those who attended the party.
Paris and Nicky Hilton attracted gawkers while making the rounds of several parties at the Beverly Hilton. The hotel was once owned by Barron Hilton, the sisters' grandfather.

What is the mood in the Kingdom Halls nowadays?
by JH inwhen i used to go the meetings in the late 80's, the mood was good, knowing that the end was close.
later on in the 90's while i still attended once in a while, people were starting to be less zealous and were starting to put their needs before those of the kingdoms.
people started to buy houses, instead of living in apartements, they were buying nicer cars, taking vacations far away, and mostly, the women started to work, to help pay for the better life style they were living.

Although I am happily celebrating my 2nd year of meetingless life, I know many who still attend and it is totally robotic. They still are waiting for that something that's "just around the corner."

Witnesses coming Saturday... I need HELP!!!!
by Globetrotter ini got into a rather heated discussion this morning with my unbaptised but raised jehovah's witness wife.
we discussed so many things: feb 1 watchtower article on 607 and 1914, the un, beth sarim, blood, god's mouthpiece here on earth, etc.
this was yet another attempt on my part to try to plant a seed of doubt.

Hello Globetrotter. As has been pointed out, the Witness view of the Bible comes from what they are told to believe by the Society. You could ask them what happened to the generation of 1914? Prior to the mid 90's the Awake! stated it was the Creator's promise that that generation would not pass away before this system was destroyed. If you can get a copy of an Awake! from that time, show them the quote that they have long since removed and ask if it's true God cannot lie what happened to HIS promise?
