Hi there, I have to totally agree with everyone here. You explained yourself so well, so nicely written. This definately has to go into the 'best of' section.
I would say 'be strong'...but you already are...LOL...You are a very strong person!

i am forcing myself to do this - i feel nauseated, depressed... my hands are shaking.
i know many of you see this and laugh.
but for those of you who arn't, you know how hard it is for me to do this.
Ohhh Daniel! ...I hear and feel everything you are saying. All I can say for the moment, is that it will be okay. Pray to Jehovah, on exactly how you are feeling. Tell him everything and see where that leads you. Don't do anything too harsh right now, just give yourself a break from everything. You need time to really sort through all this. And I struggled with the same question, Am I loyal to Jehovah or the organization. It sounds like you love God, and its the organization that you are having problems with.

firstly let me start by saying thankyou to all of you who replied to my post re: the suicide of my brother in law.
i was amazed to come in today and find soooo many lovely messages of condolensce!
i cannot possibly reply to all but each and everyone of you, i want you to know that your replies have made a huge impact on my sister.
It's so sad, that when a tradegy strikes, you see the good in people and the bad. And you see the bad come out of the people you least expect....soooo sorry that you and your family is going through this...., I hope all will be better soon.

for those of you who will be disgusted that i even attended the meeting, let alone allow my son to give his first public talk tonight, please, spare me the shouting messages.
i take full responsibility for what i experienced this evening.
yet, i feel the need to share this experience that has me enraged.
How dare they! You are the civil one to let your child have this opportunity, you could have made it very hard on the boy. But no, you took the high road and let your boy do what he wanted to do. If I were you, I would stay close to that boy, like the other poster said. Keep him busy, and tactfully, quietly fade away from all that influence. What that elder did, was downright insulting!
p.s. your parents should be praising you for how you have raised your boy, not taking the credit!

I am not from NY but my son lives in Hamden (he married a newyorker and is becoming a US citizen), and he tells me stories of driving through the bronx and central park, and central square....ohhhh i would love to go to NY. Hang in there, you will meet lots of people on the board.

Exactly the opposite happens with me. I make friends with those I truly connect with. In the congregations, I would feel a friendship starting, but it would soon go away, I dont know why, but it would. I personally find in the "world" that people are what they are. And they 'accept' you for who you are. Go with what you are feeling, if you are not comfortable, then maybe its because:
A: you just have to get to know each other more
B: you are just not suited for each other. Nothing more, Nothing less.
Give yourself time to know the person, and give them time to know you.
It truly takes time to make new friends.

1. is the wt accurate when they say that christendom erased the name 'jehovah" out of the bible?
and is it safe to say that the wt has inserted the name back in more places than it was actually in it.
i have heard talks that in many scriptures where it should simply be lord they've just inserted"jehovah.
"annual service reports" what is that? I have never heard of that.

the jw rites of surprise and expectation over the new year's text are now at a fever pitch.
it seems that the theme "godly obedience" was such a hit at the 2005 district conventions, that the governing body has served up an extra helping.
The real question is...Godly obedience or WT obedience? We all know on this forum that it is WT obedience.
