Steve 2 I concur with you Barbara was a beautiful woman, a talented writer, and a courageous soul. I saw a notice that she passed away a few years back.

Dio what can I say? I was a born writer and at 17 the written word to me was truth. This was 1974 when no internet existed and no readily available anti-JW literature.

DocBob I also remember you. You and Ross were the rock stars on Jesus Wit. I saw years back the Ross passed away and for that matter other old timers like Farkel, Dutchy, woman from Why1914, and others.

Heart and Mind Control

in my current work in texas of working with parolees and probationers i am humbled by their painful past.

Muddy Waters 18 years later from when I wrote this post, I need to give you a disclaimer before I give you my answer. Words and ideas are just mental constructs or the software needed to run the mind. In the model that I wrote about, evolution is a growth process. In my experience, it came as a result of surrendering to my past accepting it as my path. I accepted that I had no free will in charting my life's journey. I had to find the higher purpose of the path I took and how I would use it to help others. If you are interested in this concept check out the youtube videos of Sam Harris on freewill.

Rules and Regulations I had read blog posts of the crazy C.T. Russel but in the book Visions of Glory (a watchtower writer under Knorr). She blows the lid on the dark and crazy making of mind control. It's a must if you want to understand how it got to be so destructive in people's lives.

I looked because I had a disagreement with the local elders that led all the way to the governing body. The crazy powering over was a clue that I followed all the way to the top. After reading Ray's books I knew I was done. I wrote a post about it here. http://www.jwfiles.com/wt_professional_look_at_jws/threat_social.htm

After knowing the facts and real truth, I had to keep it to myself. I was married to a JW woman that she would never detower and I wanted to be a safety net for her. Some who were suffering and in deep pain I began to share what I knew. One woman read Ray's first book in one week and she boxed up all her JW books and left then on the doorsteps of and elder with a note to never contact her again.

As far as what I used to get out was getting a post-masters certification in psychology

Eyeuse2baddub in my experience I had to make peace with the fact that it was my path and good bad or ugly it was not going to define me or leave me broken. But I can relate to your words

Stillin we were the bad ass crowd of rebel rousers lol. The flame wars were not moderated and nothing was sacred. It was a great experience in understanding human nature when you go through the detowering process. To date that I know, I detowered 11 people without trying. I thought about writing a book on the topic but I decided to focus more on legacy building works as a writer.

H20 was a contemporary of Jesus Wit and the JWD crowd migrated from there when they made a shift.

Back then the only published books were Confessions of a Watchtower Slave, Ray Franz' books, and Visions of Glory. Now we have a tsunami of books, videos, and blogs. Very different times to when I was recruited in 75 and you trusted what you were told.

I visit this site about once a year just to skim the current events going on in and out of the Watchtower. I still have friends inside who keep me abreast of the people I used to know and many are no longer JW's.

Greetings fellow warriors. I had to go back into time and dig up this post I did on JWD approximately 14 yrs ago as there is no time stamp. With age comes forgetting certain things which can be a good think lol. Anyhow I share this with you fellow newbie warriors. Those of you that remember me know we have been at this resistance for many decades. My journey stated in 1994.Enjoy.

The time has come for me to bid you farewell. This Monday was a day to memorialize our fallen heroes. This was also a day for me to honor myself and all you fellow warriors. I printed out my first post to JWD, The “Wall that Heals” circa may 2001. Amazing how time heals and changes us in our evolution. I took that post and the letter below and burned it. I then went to El Paso’s oldest cemetery where every kind of person is buried. Here you find everyone from a Mexican president, Gen Pershing, famous madams (founders of El Paso) to famous Wild West gunslingers and everything in-between. I decided here is where I wanted the ashes of my JW persona to be scattered as my rite of passage to the next level of my path.

Dear Victor,

Today I am here as your silent witness to honor your past contributions and self sacrifice to the Watchtower god. You have struggled for years trying to find meaning to your twenty years of wasted service. Today, your struggle is over, it was not in vain. Through your presence and misguided dedication you helped those that wanted your help in ways that you may not even imagine. At the very least you helped your ex wife to rise above her childhood abuse and you helped yourself. Your past was instrumental in the work you do and will do on a bigger scale. Consider your twenty years of being a witness as a school you had to attend to fully understand heart, mind and soul control. Congratulations you graduated with honors!.

The Watchtower is an institution among many that God has allowed to exist. In the divine scheme of things these are schools for certain souls to attend in their spiritual evolution. Some never graduate and they grow old and die inside these institutions, it’s their use of free will and destiny.

As every great fallen warrior is honored for their service to their country today is your day of honor and death. Today you die to all your hopes and dreams, fears and misplaced faith you once bought into as a witness. I am here as your inner spirit to witness the death of all your JW ideals gone awry. You must also die to your ex JW hopes and dreams this is not your destiny. All great men rise to do what they are destined to do and today you must look forward to your destiny. As you honor and strip off the false self you had to create to fight for your survival, I as your guiding inner spirit will emerge to serve you. You must learn to trust me, and follow the path of least resistance. All men must die few actually live.

i decided to join this forum as have been lurking awhile.

there are lots of interesting topics on here that appeal to me.. i have been a witness for almost 3 decades and am very disillusioned with the organisation at this time.

i am beginning to see it in a new light as i am getting older.
