  Your JW Family: Reason With or `Live' With ?

  personally, i've kept my thoughts on the "religion" to myself since i faded for fear of shunning.

  now i'm starting to turn the other way and am considering taking some risks by talking doctrinal issues when occasions arise, but limiting myself to commenting on matters only on their instigation.

  to me at least, that seems less confrontational......and most witnesses can't resist trying to encourage family members back to the fold, which means plenty of opportunities present themselves anyway.. what about you?

  Yep, I couldn't believe it when I heard on the News this morning that the ad had been banned. It wasn't that bad at all, quite funny really. My 5yr old loved it.

  As to trying the stuff, you really do "either love it or hate it". I can't stand the stuff but my sister eats jars of it

  usually elders come over a few days before to invite me, but they didn't come yet....

  All the witnesses in my family moved away (do I smell or somefin' ? ), so I don't get invited anymore....

  wooHOO!!! (for not getting invited, that is)

  There's one elder I see most days at my kid's school. We both say `hello', but no invite has been forthcoming. He does know I haven't set foot in the hall for over 10 years though

  please does anyone know what jehova witnesses are currently teaching?

  i have not been a witness for over 10+ years.

  my brothers nor i associate with witnesses nor do we attend any meetings.

  from the sound of it, dostprefer appears to be an active witness and his post makes more "sense" when you read it from that point of view.......hope that helps

  The Social Structure in the Congregation

  ever notice how the "happiest people on earth" are also the most class-oriented?

  to say that jesus said his followers should all be on equal footing, it's incredible how much the r&f witness is not on equal footing.

  the social structure in the congregation is more complex than the blueprints of a nuclear warhead, but just so that you "remember your place", see if you can find where your niche was/is:

  LOL, that's a truly classic line!

  I was a #7 , but only in so much as my dad wasn't a believer. I didn't get to miss meetings very often at all (double )

  CoC and Search of Christian Freedom came yesterday in the mail

  time to swallow the red pill.. right now both books remain unopened - sealed in the amazon.com box buried in a backpack in the trunk of my car.

  i feel like i'm smuggling drugs or something.. i'll be starting coc tomorrow ... .

  Kendal,
  If you ask at the library and pay £1 (or there abouts) they will order it in for you. Just remember though that they will need to contact you when it arrives so give them your work number if you don't want someone at home to know what you ordered. And remember to renew it on time or you'll get a reminder listing the name of the book through your door. It only took a few days when I did this.
