hmm...I agree with Avishai. I haven't heard of there not being any trouble in any congregation. At the one attended I remember there'd always be some sister (usually an elders wife) who'd disappear for a couple months and then I'd find out that one had a nervous breakdown, and another had tried to kill her kids, and more breakdowns.....

great tribulation?
by under74 ini was talking to another ex-witness recently and i brought up "the great tribulation" but she wasn't familiar with this term--i was raised with it.
as i recall (i might be a little cloudy in remembering) i was taught that after armageddon, satan rules for 100 years and this time was "the great tribulation" because jws would be thrown in concentration camps and burned at the stake or something...or maybe it happens right before armageddon?
i'm starting to think this may be one of those false memories...or maybe a regional thing?

Narkissos- Thanks for that. Some of it sounds familiar. I don't know if the script has changed...my (immediate) family left in the early 90s and I wasn't too much into reading the literature (I was in my early teens when we left) The books I'm most familiar with reading was My Book of Bible Stories and that little pink one...I think I was given Young People Ask...Was that the pink one?...I "acted" like I read a lot when I was younger.

Heww...I was starting to think maybe it was something that I wanted to believe I was tought in order to justify the special kind of hate I have for the religion. My mom never had us do drills she'd just say some shit about Jehovah protecting us...so my brother and my sister and I would constantly talk about what we should do/where we would go if something happened when we were at school or away from our mom.

" i have posted about their racest practices & unwillingness to distribute watchtowers & awake magazines to everyone on prior occasions..... i "finally" see one of them distributing the magazines at the bus stop and she is walking along "with a cigarette hanging out the side of her mouth", smoking while she is doing it.. the witnesses in this area need a better attitude about what they are doing!!

ANYONE KNOW A GOOD THERAPIST?
by tresbella ino.k, so i have major issues people.
issues with my low-self esteem, issues with my previous abusive relationship that i once blamed on the fact that i deserved for sinning,while dating a non wiittness.
issues with the control the society has had on me and the control they instilled onto my parents to have on me way before i even knew better and i was wondering if anyone knew of any sites or possible online therapists that specialize in helping former jw's or people like me who are still young and live at home and so therefore have no choice but to live that "double life.
