Thanks for the good points you guys. I'm far removed from it now and Jws in my family (and elsewhere) don't talk to me...so, I'm not sure what's rumour or reality.

I'm somewhere in between a 1 and a 2. Hmmm... "background MIDI music & flaming logos." Hey you might like this link www.latindimples.com (might need to cut&paste). This is a JWs personal webpage....but I don't know she seems kinda worldly to me. There isn't midi music on the first page but click on any of the topics. OH, on the left side--click on "Life Without End At Last" as performed by Prince. This website is great. Everytime I need a laugh I go to it.

My sister has a co-worker who's studying with JWs. He told her today that he was being told the the WT Society was going to stop printing the Awake this month. And stop other publications soon. My sister asked why, he said it was becuase the end was soon. My sister also asked him who told him this, he says he was told this by the elder he's studying with and that he's heard it from several other witnesses at the KH he attends. Anybody else heard this? Does anybody know if they are having money problems at hq and need to cut costs?

Studying the new "Keep on the Watch!" brochure - The Illustrations (Part 2)
by ozziepost inwho else but a dub would wear a business suit to the beach?
the message given to new witnesses as they reach the end of the brochure is that it's quite normal.. .
on page 31 an illustration shows a serious, bespectacled man in business suit and tie who is seen explaining an opened bible to his companion, presumably a worldly person since he's dressed in a caual, open-necked shirt.

What are you talking about Ozzie? He's clearly trying to avoid skin cancer. Jehovah would want it that way. OR perhaps he just came from the Kingdom Hall. Anyway, it's safe and modest attire. Repels the sodomites that frequent the beach.

"i'm not sure if this can be called "molesting"... "seducing" would be a better term. why didn't anyone do that to me?
there IS a difference between a man harming a little girl and a woman seducing a little boy."
....nice GMG...while you're out drowning kittens, do you think you could search for a little tact when it comes to 8 year olds? -

Next topic: Abusive Groups
by MelbaToast inonce again hello to all and a grand saturday night (or sunday am to all you uk'rs) and yet another request for your opinion for research: .
quoted from the article "cults and families": .
"abusive groups implement their demands for purity through rituals of confession, in which members must expose their personal thoughts, feelings, and doubts to leadership's scrutiny.

That's interesting. yeah, JWs come to mind. Now I'm not into apologetics when it comes to JW cause I know what it's done to my family and many others but when it comes to your topic (public confessions and so on) I would rank JWs at a maybe a 6. The People's Temple and their "catharsis sessions' would get a 10.

Studying the new "Keep on the Watch!" brochure - The Illustrations
by ozziepost indubs now are using their newly released "keep on the watch!
" brochure to "invite" the lapsed, the recently interested, the unsuspecting to commit themselves to "god's earthly organisation".
the trouble is that the writing department have used this glossy brochure to misrepresent the 'real' truth.

well this is obviously a JW and...probably from one of the mid-western US states. So yes, not only did he fear being beaten and robbed but he also feared (once he saw that this man used pink gardening tools) molestation by a man who obviously practices abominations. If you look back at scriptures about Jehovah's servants in Sodom they clearly hold their bibles in one hand and briefcases in the other. The briefcase is used as a shield and the Bible as a weapon.

Man, Ozzie you're grasping at straws here. I can explain the picture which you describe two different ways 1. The Witness did put his briefcase down then realized in a panic he was talking to a worldly guy that might steal his stuff so he picked it back up with his right hand since he's right handed and it was by his right leg. OR 2. He doesn't need to turn the pages because Jehovah will send a wind to do it for him.
