Some suggestions: Book a holiday get-away pkg. at a bed & breakfast, inn or hotel. Go for a walk at a decorated town common. Find a restaurant that's open on Xmas or New Years and treat yourself. Take in a flick at the local movie house (if they're open). Stay home and watch A Christmas Story, It's A Wonderful Life, or Miracle on 34th Street. I'll be doin' a couple of these, for sure.

Another JW business preying on their brothers & sisters. Add it to the list: bookmarks, key rings, greeting cards, service bags, dating services, etc. I'm just waiting for a JW ticket agency to start selling front row seats to Armageddon.

One True Religion?
by blondie ininteresting topic from beliefnet.
12/14/2006 11:54 pm .
taking the position that jesus christ is, in fact, the son of god who paid the price for our sins, i dont believe our affiliation with any christian religion "gives a person an 'an edge'" in their approval by god and christ.

If CTR said anything that made sense it would be that there was truth in all religions, falsehood too.
And as Charlie T. himself once said, "A truth presented by Satan himself is just as true as a truth stated by God." July, 1879 issue of Zion's Watch Tower, the "What Is Truth?" article. Who are we to argue with the indomitable Russell?

Black and white to you, Jourles, but not the dubs. The following is the Borg's slant on things from the Jan. 15th, 1998 WT, pg. 11, paragraph 10: Concerning him and his wife Sarah, their son Isaac, and their grandson Jacob, Hebrews 11:16 says: "God is not ashamed of them, to be called upon as their God, for he has made a city ready for them." Yes, Jehovah has a place for them in the earthly realm of his Messianic Kingdom.
So much for black & white.

The Bible Is a Worldly Book
by Satanus insince the wt religion is loosely based on the bible, therefore it is part of the world.
nyah nyah, wt and it's claims about not being part of the world.. s. ps, the bible is worldly, because it was produced by jews that was very much like the rest of the world at the time, in that they were as violent as other nations and were supersticious.
also, the bible was finished and promoted theoughout it's domain by the world power, rome.

Revelation Climax, page 52, Kindly Respond

i have been reminded that a simple question is more effective than an elaborate presentation.
i have become very careful about what i say and how much i say to most people.

*** w87 3/1 15 'Upon the Watchtower I Am Standing' ***
Each article in both The Watchtower and Awake! and every page, including the artwork, is scrutinized by selected members of the Governing Body before it is printed. Furthermore, those who assist in writing articles for The Watchtower are Christian elders who appreciate the seriousness of their assignment. (Compare 2 Chronicles 19:7.) They spend many hours in researching the Bible and other reference material to make sure that what is written is the truth and that it faithfully follows the Scriptures. (Ecclesiastes 12:9, 10; 2 Timothy 1:13) It is not unusual for one magazine article—that you may read in 15 minutes—to take from two weeks to over a month to prepare. Here ya go, twinkletoes!
