If they leave all those fairground rides in place - kids will enjoy trips to bethel, and the society could make money from the rides...

Don't give 'em any ideas.
rumors are flying that michael jackson will soon close the deal on the sale of his vacated neverland ranch to the watchtower society.
they are selling their ny city bethel properties and moving to a nicer climate due to the poor health of the aging bethel staff.
the ranch seems to be an ideal fit for for them.

They can call it Beth-Shyster.

i don't read it anymore.. i figure that i know enough of it, without having to go back and read it again.
I read it occasionally when I study specific subjects often in an anti JW vein, usually I read from electronic editions on the internet.
Ditto.
my mom used to cut chicken, chop eggs and spread mayo on the same cuting board with the same knife and no bleach, but we didn't get food poisoning.
my mom used to defrost hamburger on the counter and i used to eat a bite raw sometimes, too.
our school sandwiches were wrapped in wax paper, in a brown paper bag, not in ice pack coolers, but i can't remember anybody getting e.coli.. almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pristine pool ( talk about boring ), no beach closures then.. the term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell, and a pager was the school pa. system.
i found an old water logged porn mag that some farmer hucked out of his truck window into the ditch that i carefully dried out for a week under the porch before i turned the pages.
Yes, yes, go on.......
i never thought i would do one of those infamous goodbye i cant take this board anymore posts where the person shows up again a week later and looks like an idiot.
when i had enough of this board and needed a little break i would just quietly leave for a few months and hopefully nobody noticed.
that is not the case this time.
Take care and keep yourself informed re: conventional and alternative therapy. Wish you the best!
i have been reading and enjoying the posts here for over 2 years.
i have been a witness for over 30 years.
i am going to the meetings just to keep peace in the family.
Welcome TooBad TooSad ---
Don't hesitate to share your experiences and insights, as we are all continuing to learn from one another. Looking forward to your contributions.
for all the persons that have been lured into the jw organization i was wondering if there is a magic age level or maximum exposure time where such a person comes to the realization that what he /she has been filled with information and doctrine that only hurts families and is the major cause of their breakup with their families.
i have seen some people that have come to the realizationaround the age of 40. would this be the age of realization?
is it something else?
I don't think there's any particular "age of realization". When it happens it happens. I've heard of people coming to that realization in their teens...others in their seventies or eighties.
as shown by the text below, the 7-headed wild beast has a name.. 16 and it puts under compulsion all persons, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, that they should give these a mark in their right hand or upon their forehead, 17 and that nobody might be able to buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name.
18 here is where wisdom comes in: let the one that has intelligence calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a mans number; and its number is six hundred and sixty-six.
of course the beast's "number" is "666" -- but that's not it's "name".
Twirp!
Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me.

Schizwhiz: Considering you're in a corrective mood, I thought I would highlight a "few" (but please don't take me literally) of your pony pebbles (and all from this thread, I might add).
flurry
Oh, my goodness, what a flury of activity there's been here in this thread while I was gone out of town.
No
So sense in trying to save yourself now, Little Auldie.
hussy
Here's a close-up of that hussie, "Babylon the great city".
Adulteresses
It was said, "Adultesses, ... friendship with the world is enmity with God".
Christian
Therefore, non-christian religions cannot be represented by the harlot;
Relevantly
Relevently, the Scriptures also say the heads of the 7-headed beast have names written on them

On the privious page I said the following, Jeffro:
translation
I'll get around to answering your question, but let's first take another look at the word-for-word tranlation of the Greek text into the English language.
existence
And O how appropriate it is that it is his name that's written upon the beast's heads, since we are told that the beast owes its existance to Satan. (See Re 13:2)
sabotage
You might as well have a shot too at trying to sabatoge this thread, Trojan, since most everyone else has already taken a crack at it.
BTW, I wasn't quoting scripture, but you are --
Instead of the way you have it worded, it's like this:
"Consequently let him that thinks he is standing beware that he does not fall".--1 Corrinthians 10:12.
Also, relative to the above quoted scripture (initially by you), the punctuation mark precedes the quotation mark, and Corinthians is spelled as such (only one "R").
Like shootin' fish in a barrel!

My specialty is "accuracy," and most times that requires TIME.
So, Schizwhiz ---- How many TIMEs, TIME and half-a-TIME before you hit the bull?
