Need insider info on this past wk's mtg!
by nativenyr23 inok. just read the thread on the "special talk" today and how they mentioned apostates.. well, that explains why i had such a painful conversation today with my sister-in-law.
she called to let me know that she and her mother had reached a painful decision today....to abide by the shunning rule.
up until today, we had a great relationship....everything was fine.

For a flyer to "work", it has to be directed at the public. Yes, the dub household needs to get one too, but for them to be FORCED to read it, and to deal with it, there must be consequences.
They will have to face their neighbors, and the public. Also, if you know their "worldly" relatives, then they need it too. The dub needs to be FORCE FED.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Flyers..! WhaHoooo!
You'all haven't done flyers till you've done'em like us. What an effect too. At the last minute, they moved the district assembly out of town, and they have sworn that it will never come back.
And, they moved it clear to another district. That's funny. Moving a district assembly OUT of our district.
Oh poo! What an inconvenience. Now we all have to get a hotel room.
Does anyone want to do a flyer that dubs cannot ignore?

Oh... you don't do it at the Kingdom Hall. No, that would be in-effective. You do it at the MALL. You do it down the whole street where dub's live. And watch how fast a FOR SALE sign goes up on their lawn.
You leave 20 copies at the bus stop. You place a stack at the airport. You distribute a pile at the bus station. Ha!... then you go on a shepherding call and hear the dubs scream.... "my neighbor...."... "my co-workers".... "the lady I have been visiting"

So many of you people conclude "that'll never work"...." waste of time" but never having tried it. But, I can tell you, from the inside, that this is playing havoc!
Okay, if you're all just to damned lazy, that's okay. I understand. Some folks are just BORN couch potatoes. But please, admit that you don't "flyer" because you're a butt plug, becasue you really don't feel the pain of those who are stuck, becasue you don't care.

BOBBY STIENHOFF ARRESTED
by biblexaminer indo you all remember the story of the young dub woman, jamie steinhoff, who was killed along with her children when a truck ran over their minivan on highway 401 just outside of windsor ontario canada.. well, today, the police went to the home of the mother of bob stienhoff, (the father -who survived), and arrested bob for his responsibility in their deaths.. it looks as though he pulled out onto the 401, in the middle of "death alley", without looking to see if there was anyone coming.. those who knew bob are not surprised.
he was not even supposed to be benind the wheel since he was un-insurable.. what a waste.
jamie would never have gotten pregnant by this guy, and then forced to marry him, if not for the emotional abuse suffered while growing up in the borg.. how sad.

Bob was never a JW. His Grandparents are devout. His Mom... well she's wishy washy. I am not sure if Bob's Mother was ever baptised. I am inclined to think not.

I belive the watchtower will fall.
by sleepy ini belive the watchtower will fall.. maybe not now but in ten or twenty years its really going to be struggling.. it will be obvious to most in a few more years thay armageddon is not coming , 1914 is wrong etc.
"apostate knowledge" will become much more widespread due to the internet.. it is different to other religions in the fact that everyone is looking forward to armageddon in their life time.
it is the driving force for witnesses and will cause it to die.armaggedons no-show will cause bitter disappointment .. those who have left already , and have taken their families with them have stunted future groth as this is mostly made up of children of believers .. people are becoming better educated and more knowledgeable in general.. all the elderly ones will have died, with no link to the past ,and no armaggedon enthusiasm will die out.. this generation of witnesses may be the last.. (then i woke up)or did i?
