"Hey Mister" by The Rutles makes great reference to JWs
by Zaccheus ini was awakened this morning by our barking dogs at the front door, and thought the worst.
fortunately, no door-knocking delusional hippies in ties, just neighbors telling us a bird was caught in our garage.
phew.

Elders getting burnt up.
by biblexaminer inthe elders in this area are getting burned out.
i have overheard comments that demonstrate this, but in my dealings with them, i clearly see it.
they can't keep it straight.

How pathetic. I got a text from the COBE today asking if my son could take the arrangement, and at the hall no less.
Usually he asks me to take it. But today, he knows, I'm off the grid. So, instead he asks me in a text if my son can do it.
First, my son is not an MS. He was passed over because he went to school.
Second, why the hell are you asking papa? For gods sake, he's old enough to take the group, why the hell don't you ask him?!?!?!!!!
Now, I am the biggest "apostate" in town, hands down. The shiFt I've been up to...wooo
And all they got is to ask me... and if my son can do it!! (insert expletive)
We went through the list of possible elders and ms's in the congo, and we can't believe that in two groups slated to meet at the hall this am that the almost TEN appointed ones can't do it.
TEN
I get asked all the time lately to take the group, and I almost always say no, because I have XYZ...
You can really see it coming apart -

Funny event at the Memorial celebration
by DaPriest infor this award, i would like to nominate something that happened in berlin south english, again.we all have seen people that try to disrupt the memorial celebration, and this is not amusing at all.
its quite sad.
what is amusing is when the disruption occurs from within.an incident occurred once, when a brother was passing the bread around.

What JWs practice is far removed from Christ. The event is supposed to be a sharing. It was meant to add cohesion to the church, impressing on the minds and hearts of participants that they were all to be one. It was to be done often, as often as gatherings occurred.
They would share a cup as they would share their lives and their belongings.
Why would I want to be in a roomful of unbelievers and share a cup.
Why would any supposedly authentic "anointed JWs" want to be in a room where the public is invited, heathens and unbelievers who might drink the cup with me?

Old Watchtower Literature
by biblexaminer insomewhere, somewhen, a dubb died.... waiting for the end no doubt.
when they died, they left their precious watchtower literature to somebody else, another dubb.. and that dubb also waiting for the end, living some austere life as they hovered over their precious and aging watchtower library, eventually died.. and again.
and again.. eventually, the last dubb to die left their bound 'salvation' to the congregation, who put it on a shelf, never to be read again.. and that's where i came in.. watchtower bound volume originals from the 1800's and others.. very old.. the watchtower .

If every now and again, one of the abused takes the loot and helps the others, then others can sacrifice themselves and drag it out to the finale attracting public attention.
I just hope that there is some cooperation going on and some sharing.

Yes, those are the ones. In the picture I see vol 4,5 etc. I don't have past vol 3, but I think I might get more.
In any case, the first 3 volumes are incredibly important as they demonstrate what needs to be demonstrated.

THE WATCHTOWER
VOL1 1879-1887
VOL2 1888-1895
VOL3 1896-1900
I added them to my personal and growing Watchtower Library 'of a different purpose'.
It is important, I feel, to see the Watchtower's false prophecies and literary lunacy from the actual books they are stored in.
As time permits, I would like to photograph the pertinent pages of putrid and pukeworthy palaver so that they can be viewed by the most doubting of Thomasess
I want to find a plastic clown, not a large one, so that I can put it on the page with the scholarly words to be shared, to give perspective.
I'll have to find a place to put this collection of paleotheology (not a word BTW)

Refuting Watchtarded Reasoning - 2. Does the use of "abstain" at Acts 15:29, necessitate avoiding more than just the eating of blood?
by Island Man inin my first post refuting watchtarded reasoning - 1.
"if a doctor tells you to abstain from alcohol, you wouldn't inject it..." steve and several other posters made the pertinent point that when the blood-alcohol analogy is refuted, jws will simply fall back on the reasoning that the use of the word "abstain" means to avoid taking it in by any means.
since this is indeed another common line of watchtarded reasoning used by jws, i've decided to make it the subject of this, my next refutation.. abstain is indeed a word with somewhat of a broad meaning, or more accurately, a broad usage.

To go head to head with a dub on the blood thing. Easy peezy.
Ask them,
"Is the Watchtower 1985 4/15 p.12 par. 11 correct and fair when it equates blood transfusions as being "as serious a moral wrong as illicit sex relations." in its explanation of Acts 15:20, that "blood" and "fornication" are mentioned together in the Scriptures, thus these two sins being equal...?
Make sure they know that you have made a direct quote.
They will defend Watchtower and its teaching.
Then say,
"The Watchtower also teaches that taking many blood fractions is okay for Christians today. Therefore, is it then just as okay to have fractions of fornication?
Conversation over.

I thought it was time to talk.....
by wozza ini'd like to relate an experience i had yesterday with a couple of jw's "working" with a cart yesterday.. been coming to this site for many years and these days i don't feel i've got much to contribute ,but i was out yesterday doing some voluntary work for a friend who has gone on an overseas trip .travelling around my local seaside area doing the job at hand ,i came across a couple of jw's sitting in a shelter overlooking the beach and had their trolley propped against a large public rubbish bin ,it was actually hard to see ithe trolley from most angles - whatever happened to lifting the basket to show the light stuff ...oh well .the large carpark was pretty empty except for us ,we've had pretty wet weather here lately ,bad storms and here they were set up for a days witnessing rugged up with wind and spitting rain ,i sort of thought " well that's dedication " ....that was my first thought then i pulled myself together and then thought "if i wanted to get some time in and not have to work at it too hard this maybe the place to go if i was a jw still".. well i finished my pickup and looked over at the two and realised i'd read other's experiences about approaching the cart people and wondered if talking to them would be of any benefit as i had witnessed this area for many years and my stance against the wts for hiding molestation of children is well known ,i thought, and they avoid me like the plague.. they were'nt familiar to me so i went up to them and introduced myself and quickly let them know who i was and what i am doing now as regards jw's.
they were a married couple middle aged been in for a long time and could relate to changes in the org very well to pre 1975 when i had first contact.
they pretty much suggested i was blinded to the truth ,when challenged on the royal commission into sex abuse they pointed to a case where they believed a victim they supposedly knew of in the jws was a liar ,so that's their case for the org -unbelievable.

I would have liked to take a bunch of literature from the cart and started tossing it into the bin, right in front of them.
Then... video the looks on their faces.
And keep the video going to see if they went dumpster diving.

Everyone here has read Mt. 25 and knows the illustration of the virgins with the lamps. I have mentioned this illustration in conversation with several dubbies, to draw attention to their foolishness in following Watchtower's false reasoning.
In the illustration, there are two kinds of virgins, or people. Those who take extra oil containers and those who don't.
I ask, what is the ONLY difference between the two groups? Is one set of virgins more chaste? Better looking maybe? LOL
No. The only difference is the oil containers.
And what does the oil container provide the holder with?
One word. TIME.
The lamps all burn with the same brightness. But not for the same amount of time.
The foolish virgins who fail to think ahead about the long wait to come, who convince themselves that 'they know better' as to when the bridegroom will return, these take no oil container.
In their cloistered mind, they figure that they know when he will come back, and 'much sooner than everyone else thinks'. Yes, they are brilliant! They have it all locked up.
The wise virgins, on the other hand, fully accept Jesus' words, that "nobody knows the day and hour" of his return, and they understood that his absence would be of duration. So, they plan accordingly. The "dig in for the long haul". They prepare to wait as long as it takes, patiently.
Today, I see may JWs whose lamp is running out of oil, or is empty already. They have lived for a day, perhaps not a day as was made by the ghost of Watchtower past, (1914, 1975etc) but a day of their own mind's making according to the Watchtower theology that they have consumed for so long.
I am hearing horror stories that have no happy ending. Dubs that are running out of cash and have no option but to do manual labour well into their declining years. Yes, their oil is gone.
It can result in horrific circumstances.
Ver sad.
