  We still have friends and family that shun us for the sole crime of leaving the religion while many who commit real "sins" are welcome to attend and congregate.

  So, I was reflecting what your own story says. So, I guess you will correct it.

  One local elder here has an openly homosexual son with whom he and his wife communicate regularly.

  If I were to talk to this elder and show them proofs that the WT associated with the UN behind their backs, he would shun me completely.

  Now, explain the term "extremism"...

  i had to work with an elder in fs today.

  there was no way out.. this elder is from africa somewhere, right off the boat.

  how do they view children?.

  Blonde is right. I am going to go to the elders as soon as I can convene a meeting of all of them and insist parents stop taking their children in field service.

  Blonde, I think you'll agree that responses have to be measured. I think that throwing that elder off the porch and stomping him in front of the householder would have been over the top. No?

  Putting children at stranger's doors with the Watchtower rag is what the religion is all about. This is what they practice. I was an equal recipient of this tradition as a child in the 60's.

  What was intolerable for me was that this coward left his son to hang. He teaches from the platform, using the Society's videos, that even if there are two adult JWs, then both should participate. Yet he cowered away and let the boy hang.

  He was to afraid to face t he possible rejection so he used his son as a shield.

  After I saw what he was going to do, I said service is done and I left. That coward will not continue on his own. He took his son home.

  You have done much, and I commend your efforts. But I think it quite unfair that you judge me.

  I have told this story to many. I will tell it again here.

  There was this JW couple who decided away back in the 50's that they would forgo having kids because "the end was so close".

  Time went by and, what with the birds and the bees and all, the sister got pregnant. Hey, it happens.

  Unfortunately, the sister lost the child. It was quite traumatic. And it had lasting effect.

  The sister was so affected, that the couple decided to have a child anyway. They endured the criticisms of others and the articles after articles condemning children.

  Along came Daddy's little girl.

  Well, I have to tell you, once you start with that, it's hard to stop, and not that they planned it, but along came a son.

  And I am so glad to be here.

  Outraged After Watching The May 2017 Broadcast

  ok, so i've just put myself through another months broadcast so i can see what bull they're feeding my still in relatives.

  all was going fine... well, i say fine, i mean the usual cheesy videos, rehearsed reactions from jeffrey jackson (you remember him, the one who told half truths and lies at the royal commission) and propaganda from jw land.. the last feature brings up 9/11 and the paris 2015 attack at the bataclan.

  just as im thinking "how are they gonna spin this in their direction" i hear these words:.

  I am sure the "brothers" offered fine counsel to them who might have seen a dead body or suchlike. It can be quite traumatizing to see photo's of the dead and dying. I hope the brothers can recall the Watchtower's counsel about how we should "not feel pity as they are being slaughtered to our right and to our left".

  I am confident our brothers will be able to get past their trauma.
