  Simon, we are not just talking about "some book"...

  It is a known fact that one's hemoglobin dropping below a certain level is lethal.

  JWs choose to stick to a teaching that they know kills. DEAD.

  It's not just some ambiguous writings that might be confused in the mind of a person with grey-matter-disease.

  This is a teaching, accepted by sane persons, based on a lie, and one that kills.

  It's not as if there's two ways to take it.

  1) Don't take blood transfusions

  2) God demands it

  3) It'll kill you.

  Your post does NOT reflect the realities.

  on my way home from work today, i saw the modern day pioneers having a grand old time, relaxing in the sun.

  two sprawled on one bench and the other two talking up a storm, with their iced cappuccino, just enjoying the day.

  the two carts were a number of feet away.

  What if I work on my neighbor, tells them all sorts of stuff, like aliens have invaded the neighborhood and they will suck out our brains. And I convince them to drink the koolaid and die to avoid a gruesome death.

  And they do it. They kill themselves.

  No guilt on my part. They are just suckers, according to some here.

  How many JWs, upon discovering Watchtower's secret affiliation with the UN, tore up their Blood Card?

  I tore mine up when I discovered it. My wife basically did just that also.

  JWs hold certain beliefs, like their stand on blood, because they have been led to believe by the Watchtower that it is correct. But when they find out about the UN thing, for example, their belief is shattered.

  It's a simple concept to understand. Their belief on blood is based on the LIE that the GB are "God's mouthpiece". When they learn what "God's mouthpiece" did behind their back, then the beliefs associated with these men dissolve.

  How can it be said that the Watchtower has no guilt in this. The Watchtower is a liar and the men who run it are liars. People believe the lies, and they 'die for the lie'.

  But it's not a violent death, so teaching people to die and letting them do it on their own, quietly and softly, on a hospital gurney, is not extremist.

  OK. I got it. Thanks people for all the help.

  I will feel better the next time I am visiting a dying dub at hospital who is refusing life-saving treatment based on religious lies. When I see them struggling to understand the confusing doctrine, right up to their dying moment, I will be able to take comfort in knowing that Watchtower is not extremist.

  I will also find comfort in the brothers from the blood team who have been hovering like vultures making sure that no blood comes there and that the dub died faithful to the lie.

  What do you think?

  A guy blasts into a convenience store and robs it, he gets $300

  In the process, he shoots a customer and the customer dies.

  Another man defrauds investors of $300M

  In the process, he takes the life savings of tens of thousands of people. A dozen commit suicide.

  Please contrast them for me.

  The convenience store robber gets life.

  The fraudster walks free.

  Is white collar crime okay?

  An extremist walks into a busy place and shoots a dozen people. Very bad.

  The Watchtower manipulates people by managing their superstitious. They convince them to act in a way that causes death by the thousands.

  The extremist gets shot down like a dog by police.

  The Watchtower gets a tax break.

  Thank God Watchtower is not extremist...

  We still have friends and family that shun us for the sole crime of leaving the religion while many who commit real "sins" are welcome to attend and congregate.

  So, I was reflecting what your own story says. So, I guess you will correct it.

  One local elder here has an openly homosexual son with whom he and his wife communicate regularly.

  If I were to talk to this elder and show them proofs that the WT associated with the UN behind their backs, he would shun me completely.

  Now, explain the term "extremism"...

  Blonde, I think you'll agree that responses have to be measured. I think that throwing that elder off the porch and stomping him in front of the householder would have been over the top. No?

  Putting children at stranger's doors with the Watchtower rag is what the religion is all about. This is what they practice. I was an equal recipient of this tradition as a child in the 60's.

  What was intolerable for me was that this coward left his son to hang. He teaches from the platform, using the Society's videos, that even if there are two adult JWs, then both should participate. Yet he cowered away and let the boy hang.

  He was to afraid to face t he possible rejection so he used his son as a shield.

  After I saw what he was going to do, I said service is done and I left. That coward will not continue on his own. He took his son home.

  You have done much, and I commend your efforts. But I think it quite unfair that you judge me.
