by ozziepost inthanks to dmouse for providing the scan of the september km article: .
let's look at each paragraph.
paragraph #1: somehow the topic of e-mails is linked to "valueless things" and "unrestricted use" (whatever that is).

Does this mean you are not happy with the wonderful spiritural paradise the borg has generously provided! Just think what the new world will be like with elders and MS like that. I have another drink..........

I may get a visit from the P.O. :(
by crownboy ini think i may have a potential problem on my hand.
over the last year or so, i've been attempting to go the slow fade route with the jw religion.
for the most part i've succeded, as my significant decrease in jw related activities has been greeted only by brief "pep talks" by my parents at worse.

Here's one for the record book: I had the same problem many years ago. So I took there advice and went out in service with one of them, but with a suprise. I did not bathe for three days and stunk to high heaven, so I show up for service and asked who could I ride with. Needless to say it was a very short field service day! Everyone thought of excusses to go on return visits in their own car. The next week I went to the Sunday talk, but before I went to the meeting I ate lots of carb's and sugar! I sat on the front row and farted loud all through the meeting. Do these things three times in a row and call me in the moring.

JW Family, How Do They Drive You Up The Wall?
by Celtic inmany of us still have jw family still very much held within the congregation.
personally, i love my family but they do have this uncanny ability at times to absolutely drive me nuts in sheer exasperation.
the things particularly that really gets my goat are the following: .

I couldn't agree more! Remember, it is better to stay quite when the JW's take to their high horse and holier than tho attitude. Let them hang themselves with their own words. Keep in mind that they live in a different world than we do. As a light of hope, maybe one day one thing that you say will stir their interest and start the deprograming process. This is what keeps me going and not freaking out.

Prevent Truth Decay!
by mann377 inyour mission if you decide to accept it is to expose the watchtower bible & pedophile society.
although the internet is a great way to expose the wtbs, what other means would the common man have to help begin the deprograming process in family members?
put ray's book in all the local libary's?

Newbie
by blackrose inhello, i am new to this board in a way.
i have been reading messages for about a month now and just got the nerve up to register an account so i can give my "two cents" once in a while.
i was raised a jw, but just recently expressed openly that i do not have plans on associating with them any longer.. anyways, not going to type my story out right now, as i do not know if any one wants to hear it.

I just finished reading the insert in the August Kingdom Ministry and had to vent my disdain over the POMPOUS & ARROGANT attitude the WTBS takes in criminalizing expressing ones ideas. See the last sentence in par. 7, p.4 of the insert. I also had to laugh when watching the Panorama video and GB member looked into the camera and said "we don't go beyond the things written!" To bad the reporter was not up to date with all the changes in belief and polices of the WTBS. It would have been a good time to ask about. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Dealing With Witness Relatives
by metatron ina simple point but well worth repeating is that just as it took.
many gradual steps to 'come in the truth', so also it takes many.
gradual adjustments to leave it!.

I just wanted to say that I enjoyed the info in this thread. I agree that to leave a cult such as the JW's one must drift away much like a boat from shore as opposed to sinking. Also it is important to make friends outside and get involved in things outside of the org. This way the org. does not have the intimdation over you. You must do this slowly and use reasons that do not throw up red flags ( such as attending another church, running for political office, etc.). The best excuse is materialism such as having to work to much, health etc. I always ask leading questions when approached and never respond to there questions with answers that will be suggestive of an attitude that will give them cause for action. My wife once got mad and said that I was scared to express myself, I just looked at her and said "yes, what does that tell you about the spiritual paradise that we are in!" She has never said anything about my position since.
