That program was so depressing to me. I couldn't finish it. While he is a great talent and is capable of having an awesome effect on ppl, the program showed me a person who is still trying to come to grips with a childhood that was stolen from him. No amount of fame or records is worth that. All that he has is just a waste, imo.

In my opinion the civil rights movement was more about the right to a quality education that was denied from the vast majority of blacks and other minorities through various means. The golden rule of Jim Crow was Separate But Equal. However, under Jim Crow the separation of the races was anything but equal. Even in today's supposedly integrated society a huge disparity still exists in the quality of education available to the respective races.
To be honest I would have no problem living in a society that promoted a separation of the races if there were some assurance of fair and equitable treatmeant and opportunity. However, that is almost never the case, since the main objective of the majority in such societies is always to exploit the minority.

When did labeling stereotypical behavior due to one's color of skin become "tongue-in-cheek"?
As soon as I posted to this thread.
How many white women have you raped this week, while selling crack, juggeling 3 ho's in your white caddy, while eating a tub of buttery grits? I mean black folk do this, right?
I hate grits and I don't own a Cadillac.
mean after all, these questions are "tongue-in-cheek".
Not to mention assinine, stupid and betraying a total lack of insight. Much like your nit-picking posts here.
How about saying, "My bad, I messed up...I was stereotyping people due to their skin color"? Kind works better then..say..."tongue-in-cheek", doesn't it?
You know what, if I had meant Animal or white folks in general any harm I would. I really would.
What is really getting me right now is that my post and Animal's both showed about the same level of insensitivity, and ignorance. I say this mainly because they both oversimplified an issue and showed no insight whatsoever into the reality of the way things are. Maybe, just maybe that has to do with the fact that both of them were said in jest?
I'll tell ya what though. I will say that I'm sorry you are so sensitive in regards to matters of race. Let's just say I met cha halfway.

You can't knock Em's lyrical prowess. He's probably one of the best ever. I just can't relate to a lot of the things he talks about. I mean the dude has an absolute hatred for his mom, which is something that I cannot even begin to fathom. Also, he beefs with boy-bands and Christina Aguilera. Although I did hear the exchange between he and this guy Benzino from Boston. Em's answer was aiight. The Stan song was dope but again the subjuct matter, imo was a little off base. I haven't ever heard of a hip-hop fan taking his infatuation with anyone to that level, but that's just me.
They lack what true hip-hop/rap is based off of - SOUL.
Hey, back2dafront he produces most of his own stuff now. Did u have the same feeling when Dr. Dre was behind the boards? -

Man that has to be a way to go out though. Up therein the sky, living what is probably your life's dream, in a place where relatively few men have ever been and relatively few (at least of your time) will ever go. Still a tragic accident because the nation lost 7 of it's best and brightest. But still......
