I remember it being announced at a circuit convention hall in Fremont California around 1980, I was about 15. I didn't know who the hell the man was, but it did cause a slight stir in the audience. I don't recall my parents ever saying anything about it and I dont remember it ever being mentioned at the hall.
But I do remember a book that he had written being mentioned at the convention, not the name of the book mind you, just that he had written an apostate book and no one was to read it.
That stuck in my mind and when I was able to I found that book.
Maybe that brother on stage should have kept mum about the book, ah? lol

What would you say to a JW at your door?

i will say:i don't need the watchtower magazine because i already know what it says: since i'm an apostate, wicked slave class worldly person and don't beleive the new light from the governing body of the faithful and discrete slave class, i will be buzzard meat at armageddon very soon now, unless there is more new light about it not being as soon as predicted, like so many times before.

Do you have a children's ministry? Do you have a sunday school program? Do you have any activites structurted for the children? If you dont have anything like that why should I bring my children there?
Mrs Jones - who believes it's crazy to expect a child under 5 to sit still for more than 2 minutes.

no not hostility - more like exasperation at your tactics. Like i said before you are preaching to the choir here. Most on this site are no longer Jehovah's Witnesses and no longer practise the faith or belief.

Wakeup Treefrog! Most people here aren't Jehovah's Witnesses. Like someone said in an earlier post "You are preaching to the Choir"!
When people tell you that you are "preaching to the choir" it is to let you know they support your idea (somewhat); they also might be saying you don't need so spend so much energy to make them believe what they already know.
