i was wondering if anybody feels like i do that if i hadn't been raised a jw i would never have embraced the religion.
i know it's easier to say in hindsight after i know the truth about the org but honestly i don't think i would have given them the time of day.
i'm not a religious person or even a spiritual person and being a jw always caused a conflict in my mind.
I was raised in the madness and wasnt attracted to it. Oh I studied to get baptised but I could never work myself up to take the big dip, and quite honestly I dont think the brothers at the hall I attended cared whether or not I did get baptised.
But no, if I had been raised with another religious outlook I dont think I would ever have been attached to the JWs.

i have no guilt for not attending for 2 years in a row.
Oh hell no!! I dont feel guilty for not going to the memorial and when I announced to my mother that I would no longer attend (close to 20 years ago) I didnt feel guilt then either.
I'm looking forward to having a whizbang of a great time at the Easter celebration at my church this Sunday and having a jolly time at the Egghunt at a friend's house this Saturday.

those cadbury eggs are just the best, like a pure jolt of sugar and the fake yolk and white is just too cool.

omg see's candy!!! I had my dear hubby get me a box of see's candy for valentine's day under penalty of no nookie. there's no see's here. he ordered it online and i got it 3 days before valentine's and ate some. it was so good!!

hm she kinda deteoriated in to a freak...I mean I dont have a problem with watching sex acts (preferablely behind a glass window) but she came in here as a jw wannabee and then started in on some twisted sexual stuff...and I dont consider myself to be a prude maybe that's why her post got deleted?

if you love jehovah miss your extended family want your children to have everlasting life its not hypocritical.
Not going this year. Havent been in close to 20 years. Dont miss it. Have more fun at the church I go to now. Got baptised last Sunday at my church and boy is my heart glad and my hubby proud. Looking forward to Easter Sunday and singing in the choir.

i just got my hands on a copy of my book of bible stories ... (1978).
at first i was excited when a friend pulled it out of his bag, said he'd gotten it as a kid.
then i started flipping through, looking at the pictures, feeling the memories spin in my brain.
a jw man, who my husband met at an eletronics store, gave my kids one of those books. my kids havent seen it and never will. i still have the book and have been tempted more than once to give the thing back to the jw guy. i flip through the book every once in a while and it's something that really isnt for children.
the kids dont miss the book

to say that jesus said his followers should all be on equal footing, it's incredible how much the r&f witness is not on equal footing.

I guess me and my family were somewhere between #5 and #6. Mom had been associated since age 4 with the jws, I dont know when she got baptised. Dad got baptised about 3 years after he married mom, close to when I was born I think. I do remember Dad attending meetings when I was in grade school but by the time I had reached middle school Dad was no longer a regular attender to the Hall. Did that affect the way we were treated by others in the congregation? Perhaps, but I do know that we hadly were ever invited to anything that was going on outside the Hall.
