Thank you Lois. I wondered if the family members were affected (they are cousins of my father and lived just a couple doors down from us when I was a small child) and my mother called this morning with news from family in Dallas that our Oklahoma family is ok. Things can be replace, family can't be.

I don't get it ... 80% of people in Oklahoma DON'T have a Tornado Shelter. Are they nuts ????
by RubaDub ini really don't understand.
how can any homeowner in his right mind, not have a tornado shelter ???
i understand that some people live in apartments and condos, but someone with any size yard (even a driveway) could have a shelter.. to me it's a no-brainer.

It might sound funny but folks back there think Californians are crazy to live in earthquake country.

I mean really, how can anyone in his right mind living in Oklahoma, Kansas or other Tornado Alley areas not have a Tornado Shelter ?
A lot of folks there don't. I lived in Indiana for 7 years, 1 of which in an apartment. Neither had a storm shelter or a basement. Wish I could of had one. Fortunately I never needed it.

Surprised may have been better or even disappointed.
Surprised? Sometimes.
Disappointed? Nah, I reserved that for family members. Disappointment to me means I have some sort of stick in the fire. Most folks here are adults and I'm no den mother.

Just heard from my mother that family members we have in Moore got hit. Their house is destroyed but they're ok. Don't know more than that since cell phone lines are so bad back there right now.

If you believe in Gods laws why dont you go live in Saudi Arabia ?
by mP ini think we all know that shariah law is basically mohammads copy of the torah, with minor edits.
slavery, womens inequality, anti homosexuality are obviously written in the same spirit.
so believers why dont you go live in saudi arabia if yo u believe gods law is perfect or at the last useful ?.

there would be a whole lot less stds, and no abortion.
I'm of the mind that being fully aware of human procreation processes and having full access to contraception is the bigger issue of having a choice. Abortion is the sexy issue to divert attention away from the limiting of a woman's choice to reproduce or not. Education is the key. The bibe is not the first place I went to to undersand how my body works.

I'm more shocked by some so-called believers. Last year one called me a bitch on ths very board. It was shocking (well not really considering who said it) but I did not return in kind. I'm still amused by it.
I'm not even shocked by this topic. Some folks just can't let go of the us vs them thing I suppose.

My chat with 2 Dubs yesterday about UN membership
by jookbeard ini live close to a resonanbly busy street, 20 odd shops banks, a train station,a couple of cafes and coffee shops etc and usually see dubs doing street work close to the station and i'm now on nodding terms with an elder who is out most days of the week and have got close to recognizing most of the hard core of about a dozen of them , i was walking out of the cafe yesterday to be greeted by a couple of newbies i'd never seen before , a scruffy short dumpy man and a fairly well presented middle aged lady, i'll try and abridge the conversation as best as i can, we must have chatted for about 15 minutes and it was all in a good mannered style;.
me " have you sold many of those this morning ?".
jw guy " oh no we dont sell them we give them away for free" (like i didn't know that).

My favorite part was the thinly veiled threat of violence.
What a maroon!
