he wasn't even old enough to drink yet.. to make it even sh*ttier, he had called me a few weeks ago and asked if he could come out here with me but i couldn't do it at the time.

so of course the first thing that comes to mind is if i had done something different it wouldn't have happened.. he was going through the sh*t as i call it, when witnesses go off the deep end and get into everything in the world to stop hurting and they don't even know what is wrong.

Oh for cripes sake you know what could be worse than some stupid girl giving you problems? How about being married at your age? I was married at 17! How would you like to be married to a mean, cruel, fickle, heartless and prickly girl? No wonder I had such a rough first marriage I was way to young to get married!

Chin up kiddo it could be worse!!!!! Now you go out and have fun and get to know who you are and become a wonderful man and then give those women something to swoon over!

I hope you don't mind a hug from an old gal! When I read your post it reminded me of any one of my three boys and their heart breaks with different girls growing up, as a Mom I just wanted to slap the ever lovin' poo outa those darn girls for hurting my boys! But ya know it's just life we all have to kiss some frogs to find our prince or princesses. Use this as a learning step in the process of dating girls, yes they can be mean, cruel, fickle, heartless and prickly, but they can also be the total opposite of that.........ah hum....that's where the trouble begins! LOL

Also, I think I'm going to avoid girls completely. Older, younger, doesn't matter. All the girls that surround me are JWs, and there's nothing I can do about it. Best to ignore them.

I would at least for the next 5 years or so, give them a chance to grow up and be women, women are way more interesting and not so prone to moodiness! You'll like women!

Well I tried to cheer ya I probably didn't cuz you just have to feel crapy for a while in fact feel as crapy as you want and even cry it helps clear the pipes then get on with it, go have fun with some buds and forget those darn girls! Besides I just wanted to give you a hug!

i have been trying to sort this out scripturally, and would like to get input from christians on how these two concepts differ and/or overlap.

please be liberal with scriptures to support statements.

i think there may be others who are trying to figure this out for themselves, too.

I'm angry at you because you needlessly and recklessly destroyed something that could have helped a specific person cope with their life a bit more easily.

Just my experience speaking here....you can lead a horse to water but you can't make 'um drink. Letting a person do the work to their own discovery and sit with the uncomfortable feelings which come often is the best way for them to come to a resolution which works for them.

You've done it AuldSoul, I've done it and I'm sure Terry has done it. It's the better part of the process called learning. As kind hearted as you are AS your time would be better spent if you let the person who is most concerned about this subject do the digging for the truth of it. It's not a wise thing to be more involved in some one's life than they are even willing to invest in it. Have you ever heard the saying; "A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still." ??

And I don't agree that Terry needlessly or recklessly destroyedyour thread he just offered another side to the issue which IMHO is another aspect for any seeking person to consider. That he gets under your skin is yours to deal with and like Terry said, ignore him. That's how you deal with people who rub you the wrong way, the ad-homonym attacks were uncalled for.

BTW what's all this ownership of a thread about just because you started it, do you own it on a public discussion forum? What's with that?You could maybe use this symbol in the title next time ® so we have warning IT'S YOUR THREAD!

i must apoligize to many of you wonderful friends here for having been tardy in getting back to everyone.. it has been quite a rollercoster for me, and i am just trying to take life one day at atime.

i have moments when i feel more sorrow than other days.

i have some great friends who have supported me during some of these rougher days.. i recieved many cards of condolances.

I finally got to meet my family after 20 years!!!!

today i got to go to the stapleton family reunion.

we as kids didn't get to go to these reunions because, as my parents would say "bad association".

most of my family (including uncles) i haven't seen in over 20 yrs.

I can't imagine your parents thinking their very own family reuinion would be bad association!! Who the heck raised THEM? Sorry but as a kid my mom the JW and my dad a non-believer we went to all our family reuinions both sides. It's the most fun a kid can have with their cousins and aunts, uncles, grand parents. I would hate to have missed out on all that fun, sorry you did.

I hope you spend the next years of your life getting to know your family! Think of all the family history you've missed out on, now you can make some!
