I've had a lot of hard experiences in my life. I won't name them as some of them are fairly close to the surface today. But the thing that I've finally learned is that we don't have to get through them gracefully...but just GET THROUGH THEM. Most times I don't know how I'm doing it, but at some point, I wake up and realize, "I'm over it. I'm done grieving." I try to make that moment as memorable as the pain. It's what helps me remember later what I can look forward to.

I just called and a Spanish-speaking man answered the phone. He said he didn't speak English, but I did get "Kingdom Hall" from him. Perhaps this is a local Spanish congregation?

I know that Wild Turkey and Lyin' Eyes are in Louisiana, but I don't think they're in New Orleans. Baton Rouge area? Bryan, where are you? Is there anyone else from the board down in that area? For some reason I remember others being down there. Does anyone else remember Bigboi? Is he even on this board anymore?
My thoughts are with everyone down there, but of course, I'm immediately thinking of those I know.

Richie,
You are too much my friend! LOL If I weren't old enough to be your mother, I'd have a crush on you. Funny guys are a turn-on to many girls!
Be careful - you don't want to get the dust kicked up too much with your mom.

Could it be that like I've said before you've become blindly condemnating even more so than the group you once belonged to?
I haven't bothered to look up the thread that this comes from, so in it's context, I can't comment on. But as a lone question, it's something that I've had to think about myself. It's a good point.

I found that too humorous to NOT mention at the Fest that night. Everyone got a good roar out of it
was it not Blue Mesa? good times...good times...Yeah, that was about 3 years ago I think. I remember it was my birthday night. Can you believe that about 3 years ago this October you were sitting as my family at my wedding? Time flies! Most of us remember being 18. Especially the part about being way too self conscious around someone you like. But it sounds like you acted pretty mature in the situation so why worry about it?
I say this because I was about tsunami riders age when I left the WTS...
I think being a JW kid stunts you in some ways. The clique-y atmosphere at the KH limits your socialization. Not associating with worldlies limits your socialization. What I learned at age 18 - 24 is what most nonJWs learned at 14 - 20. So he's a little self-concious about what people think about him. It was pretty much inbred in ALL of us as JWs to BE self-concious about what EVERYONE thinks, JWs or not. Why not give the kid a break?
Tsunami Rider - keep going to school and learning from these little knocks. You'll do just fine!
