  ok, in the ever-changing world of ?new light?

  who is going to be the new ?wild beast??

  i was just watching the news and the un is in some pretty bad trouble, teenage prostitution scandal, oil for food scandal, ect.. it seems that they are slipping quickly into insignificance.

  i find that the more i read the bible, the less i believe the wts interpretation of it. funny, they encourage more bible reading by itself now. wonder if that has anything to do with the lack of growth?

  they were right about one thing: reading the bible w/o their literature and you'll never come to the conclusions they sometimes come up with!

  have you found some new band or artist that you would reccomend we listen to...for this to work we would need to know what style of music you normally listen to and then we can know if its what we would enjoy...eg.

  i like pink floyd...genesis...yes...etc.....................and have just found mercury rev......brill

  tool- laturalis, morphine- anything by them, the mars volta-frances the mute, ray lamontagne-trouble, the secret machines-now here is nowhere, my morning jacket-anything by them, thornley-thornley, handsome boy modeling school-white people, north mississippi all stars-hill country revue, old crow medicine show-o.c.m.s., john butler trio-sunrise over sea, a perfect circle-thirteenth step.

  this should give u a good mix of rock, hip-hop, and roots music

  Is the "new light" doctrine scriptural?

  i already heard one argument on this, that the scripture referred to (proverbs 4:18) in context was actually advice of a father to his son on how during his life he would continue to grow spiritually throughout his life.

  but a closer look shows that there is no mention at all of new light, in any context.

  it says "but the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly estblished" [analogy: from darkness of the night gradually to the full light of the day?].

  Cults 101

  i found an article about cults...and copied the characteristics that cults have.

  you can add more if you wish... .

  the group is focused on a living leader to whom members seem to display excessively zealous, unquestioning commitment.

  heard an elder tell someone at a door that JW's are not a cult because cults follow a man as leader.well don't JW's follow a group of men? if a person is accused of being an alcoholic and has ALL of the symptoms except one, wouldn't he still be classified as an alcoholic? "if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, sounds like a duck, its probably a duck"

  if he arrived in 1914, why do we still "eat this loaf and drink this cup"?

  i took evelyne a copy of everyones wonderful thoughts... she cried more than once.

  so, she saw the specialist just after lunch time.

  it looks like, after 3 liters of iv, she has gone from 4.7 to 14!

  i've noticed there are a lot of jw's in good standing on here these days... i know its a small sample but it seems promising.. any current circuit overseers/district overseers post on here, that would be crazy.

  once a ms, not anymore. used to do territory, mics,and anything else asked. now i just sit there, comment occasionally, sleep a little(ok a lot)
