  after managing a successful fade, the long thread started by nvrgnbk made me think a bit.

  up until then, i maintained a fairly hardline stance that the borg would need to d/f me if they really wanted me "out".

  but then, i began to consider a few things.

  i was wondering if there are any current regular posters here that are still active , but are mentally inactive and don't believe all the bull anymore, and are just going through the motions to keep their life with friends and family together.. i realize this might be a posting that will probably get 0 replies, but.......

  brother apostate, scott weiland(not whelan or however you misspelled it) did not play guitar for stone temple pilots. dean deleo was the guitarist, and a good one.

  prophecor, david lee roth did not play anything in van halen. eddie van halen did all the guitar playing. his ego would have it no other way.

  for the record, my favorite guitar players:

  1. warren haynes- gov't mule

  2. jimmy page- led zeppelin

  3. jimmy herring- aquarium rescue unit, the dead, allman brothers, and many others

  My Dad died on Friday

  i dont often post on here but lurk everday.

  i was an elder for 11 years, raised as a witness from birth and eventually left in 2002 aged 42.. my dad died on friday aged 87. he was a witness baptized in 1940. he was congregation servant and then elder in hull, england.. we were arranging his funeral tonight with my 2 brothers who are still witness elders.

  all they were interested in was what he had done in the "truth".

  i won't tell you what to do, but i'm really sorry about your dad passing. i lost my dad 8 years ago. he was a long time elder with a fine reputation. i miss him to this day.

  Songs that make you cry...

  i've been kind of sad the past few days for several reasons, but, there are certain songs that just cause the tears to flow whenever i hear them (and especially alone).

  only time by enya.

  i know that this song is often linked to the sept 11 attacks, but it really is just so hauntingly beautiful.

  and, like it or not, song #15, life without end at last. ever since i lost my dad a few years ago, i can't sing that song at the meetings. i have doubts about the "truth", but i sure hope to see my dad again one day, somewhere.

  hello chumz on the board.

  nothing really to do with jwism but who prefers the american 'bourbon' type such as 'wild turkey', 'jim beam' etc or who prefers a fine single malt scotch such as 'glenfiddich' or 'glenmorangie'?

  i am not trying to stir up nationalism with this question but am just genuinely curious.. lfcv.
