Unfortunately I can?t tell you my story. But I can tell you a story about someone else: The great titan Atlas (?He who dares? or ?He who suffers?) was considered a leader, and was so in the battle between the Titans and the Olympians. He fought on the side of the Titans in the war with the gods of Mount Olympus, the Titans were defeated in this war and were placed in Tartarus as punishment. However, Atlas wasn't granted this punishment and was instead forced by Zeus to carry the entire weight of the sky on his shoulders for joining Chronus in the war. It is rumored that Atlas was skilled in ?sciences? and found out the spherical shape of the stars. It is also rumored that Atlas was turned to stone by Perseus (son of Zeus) using Medusa's head, after he refused to give Perseus the hospitality he thought deserved. The hero Heracles (another demigod son of Zeus) tricked Atlas into retrieving some of the golden apples of the Hesperides (so he could live forever) by offering to hold the heavens for a little while. Atlas carried on his ?assignment? but upon his return with the apples, Atlas decided not to take the heavens back from Heracles. Heracles tricked him again by agreeing to take his place if he would only take the sky again for a few minutes so Heracles could rearrange his cloak as padding on his shoulders. Atlas agreed and Heracles left. So Atlas still holds the sky. Seems like Atlas was wronged twice by the sons of Zeus Seems like he was punished for standing for what he believed in. Seems like Atlas had to learn the hard way and not trust the ?elite?. Seems like as soon as Atlas can loosen the weight over his shoulders he will be free.
