Climate change IS the history of this planet even when no humans lived here.
It is hardly surprising that people have a 'human centric' attitude to everything which defies our total insignificance. If we were to set of a few nukes etc, we may well wipe ourselves our and a considerable amount of the life on this planet but life would probably go on in one way or another.
Climate Change, or Global Warming is being used by the powerful to control the weak. They want the more insignificant humans to use less rescources so that they can have enough for themselves until we run our of oil, gas etc. Food prices around the world are rising, which will have a run on effect to the poorer people, simply because the rich a demanding that more crops be grown to provide fuel for those who can AFFORD fuel! Climate change is simply the con being used to tell us, the not so wealthy, that WE are the cause of our own demise and that WE should use less fuel, energy, food etc. I don't see Al Gore using less fuel, energy, food etc but he would have us 'lesser mortals' wind our own usages down.
The world is about to approach 'energy crisis'. For the first time since the 60's and 70's we are nearing the point where the lights will have to start going out for certain parts of the day and there will be NO ENERGY available. IN the Uk we have no nuclear plants being built and only basic wind power is being invested in. When the electricity goes off, the modern age will be over.
It will have had nothing to do with Climate Change but more to do with Energy Change, the the failiure of governments to prevent loss and power and plan and invest in alternative fuels that would benefit EVERYONE and not just the very wealthy.
My shopping bill is getting ridiculous!

Our petrol bill is so ridiculous we don't use the car but cycle everywhere....except to go on holiday!
This is not caused by Climate Change. Climate change is natural. Our problems are caused by useless governments who have failed to invest in alternatiave fuel and choose to distract the average mortal by claiming it is the 'average mortals' fault that they have destroyed the planet.
The UK is obsessed with domestic consumer recycling their cardboard, glass, plastics etc. However, the shops and factories do NOT HAVE TO recycle anything at all. There was a phase where supermarkets in our area recycled their cardboard......NO MORE! Their plastic.....NO MORE! However, the ordinary man and woman in the UK is fined hundreds of pounds and receive a criminal record if they accidentally put a piece of plastic in their card board recycling or a piece or cardboard in their plastic recycling! However, industries and shops dump absolutely everything into one skip and the whole lot goes down to the land fill! Does that make you wonder what exactly is going on and why governments are trying to blame the ordinary people for the sins of huge industries? We are told not to leave our TV standbys on and yet at my husband's firm and every firm in the country all the lights are left on all night and their computers are NEVER EVER switched off! Make any sense to you?
It's a big con and a big distraction.
It's a form of brainwashing. Hear it often enough, Global Warming, Climate Change, caused by YOU because YOU have a car and YOU have your TV standby on and YOU have a light on in a room that no one is in, and YOU have left YOU computer on and YOU are using too much fuel and YOU, YOU, YOU always YOU and never the industries or the very rich to blame!

The JWs often say that they can prove what they believe from any bible. Thing is, they can't and so won't use any other bible to prove their beliefs. With the JWs, their beliefs came first and then they had to construct a bible to fit in with them! Beautifully clever, twisted, manipulating BS!
The Bible was 'constructed' by the Roman Catholic Church to fit in with their beliefs. The JWs come along with their own beliefs and then construct their own version of the bible also.
Chinese whispers really! If people are so dumb as to not realise that the Bible is a Roman Catholic construction, how are they possibly going to accept that the NWT is a furthur contrived elaboration of the original. And is there any original? No! No 'original' exists pre 2 - 3 century. Does anyone know what the 'original whisper' was? I doubt it!
So where are we heading with this? Absolutely anywhere you want! Make your own version and believe anything you choose to because no one can tell you for a fact if this is what it was meant to be saying!
One thing you can say for sure about the Bible is that it wasn't carved in stone! If it was, we might have a better idea of what it was all about to begin with!

Who is protecting all these parents, the Tapas 7 or 9, whatever it is, from prosecution for confessing to leaving their tiny children unattended?
Only an idiot would leave their children alone while they got pissed out of their heads down at a pub / restaurant / night spot etc. Some of these parents even confessed to leaving children alone who were sickly and vomiting. Call them parents?! As parents we have to remember we don't 'own' our children. We belong to them and not them to us. We can't just 'switch them off' when we've had enough of them, like some expensive toy. WE have to remain switched on all of the time, at least at their most vulnerable ages. They are not a fashion accessory to be farmed off to nannys, child minders etc but a privilige to be with. We give them self worth by sacrificing our all and we give them pride in themselves that their parents would do that for them. These parents have learned in the most horrific way possible that money, career, power etc are absolutely nothing in comparison to the love of a small child and the hope that their purest love gives to us all.
The McCanns and their friends betrayed their children by their own selfishness. If only they appreciated what they held in their hands....wonderful growing spirits and lives and so much love. But a cheap meal and a bottle of plonk cost them dearly. A birthright sold for a bottle of wine and a bowl of beans! To be with their children was their privilige. They should have been there. But they know that now. The good that comes from this bad is that many many parents, all over the world, will never, ever leave their children alone to go out and get drunk with their friends. One life may well have saved many others.
As to Madeline......heaven alone knows where she is and what happened to that little girl. We can only hope that she really is all right, and at the worst, not suffering.
As for the parents....I only wish I could feel a little more pity for them than the little bit I do. We all make mistakes....but with children there are mistakes we should never allow ourselves the luxury to make.

Personally, when given the mags, I have to take it carefully when reading them, and only a bit at a time, as they tend to raise the same fears that they did for the first forty years of my life.
I then, go through what I have read in my own mind, while doing other things, and slowly disentangle the ideas they have given me and deprogramme myself. Never trust ANYTHING that they say and more importantly.....never recycle them....always shred and trash when you have finished with them. They are more dangerous than radioactive waste!

Interesting article and certainly true that the WT material promotes depression, illness and unhappiness. It also encourages the abdication of personal thought processes.
The question I am left with is, is it a deliberate policy, the hypnotic nature of the literature, or is it just caused by constant repetitive reading and boredom brought on by the literature? IF you say something often enough people will believe it simply because it is repeated and JWs are forced into reading WT literature at least five hours a week never mind the personal reading on top. So is it a master plan or just the inevitable consequence of reading the WT materials?

there is no reason for the bullying....it is just happening.
he is repeatedly being asked into investigations and disciplinary meetings for issues so small that his trade union representatives are at their wits end and have finally decided to call in the head of their trade union and a lawyer to begin going down the road of constructive dismissal.

Anglise - Thanks. He went back to the GP today who has put him on the sick for the next month and he sees the counsellor in a couple of weeks.
A change of job is probably inevitable but I don't think he's going to be up to thinking about that for a little while yet. The Trade Union informed him last night that they had contacted an employment lawyer and he would be arranging a meeting very soon. So.....he's gone to bed and is fast asleep. It will take time for him to realise that he has no choice but to move on. I'd rather he had just depression than progress onto a full blown break down so it's time for him to have some peace.....for a little while at least. The doctor was very help ful and very sympathetic and they have a massive display up in the surgery at the moment about bullying and abuse. So they seem to be up with this problem and what it is doing to people. The doctor he saw last week said that bullying in employment is out of control at the moment and too many people are too poor, uneducated and just not protected enough to stand up to the bullys. It's very sad and upsetting.
