  recently i was reading and writing posts of why lot would offer his daughters to the men of sodom and someone else was asking or commenting on why uzziah was killed for trying to stop the ark of c. from falling.

  well, lo and behold, the feb 1st watchtower addresses both of these questions and suggests that we should not be questioning these events as god knows what he's doing?.

  God's chosen people are always very bad...?

  if i remember the bible accounts of god's chosen people, the jews, they were always bad, disobedient and up to no good.

  because of this they were alway being punished severely for their thoughts and actions.. since this is the case, could it be that the jws really are god's chosen people?

  i've never met such a naughty lot!.

  Countrygirl! I have to disagree with you about babys being perfect! This would imply good wholesome behaviour. Take it from me, I have five children, they're naughty from the start. My first son developed teeth by the time he was three months old and set about trying to amputate my nipples, since I was still breastfeeding. Every time he bit me, hard he would giggle and giggle. I became a nervous wreck after he drew blood and I was left with a tooth mark for a scar. Needless to say I had to stop breastfeeding.! No they are NOT perfect as babies. Far from it.

  Who cares if the JWs are right?

  this is by no means an original idea, but even if the jws have been right all along, i don't care.

  if pleasing god means not knowing what to think or feel without checking with headquarters first, then i don't need him.

  who would want to be caught up in an eternal nightmare where the entire population was a braindead mass of clean-cut yes men?

  i left a brief message with my # - they actually called me back, in less than 24 hours.. we talked for about 30 minutes.

  i laid all my "gripes" right out on the table.

  the brother listened only offered me 1 scripture and even dignified me by saying i probably already knew it, but he would like to read it anyway.

  We don't have anything like this in the UK either, that I'm aware of anyway.

  Do they take international calls?

  Is it meant to be a help line for people who are already JWs or just for new recruits asking questions?

  No more meetings for me!

  well, after being out-of-town for nearly 2 months, i?ve decided i can no longer go to any meetings after returning home (not that i was going to that many beforehand).

  i?m not sure what is happening to me, but i?ve actually developed an aversion to anything "watchtower!

  " i cannot even read the literature, including current awake and watchtower magazines, without getting extremely nauseous!

  Good for you Cyberguy!

  Now, start living. I think we all seem to come to that point when we know the truth about 'the troof'. You finally just can't take it anymore and when you reach that point it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Your eyes have been opened and you can't go back home.

  I found at that point that life actually began. It's been very good since I stopped attending and life gets freer every day.
