ok, back to the juicy stuff.... after all that material on pioneering, you might think i spent a lot of time in the pioneer service, right?
actually, i was a regular pioneer for less than a year.
it didn't take me long to get into the habit of fudging my hours (as so many here have indicated that they did).
Awe, man! I was hoping they'd get into more juicy details about the "wrongdoing." That was the only interesting part of the letter (hey, my JW wrongdoing rap sheet is a mile long!)
What's up with the worrying about turning your literature for money? Geeze, major issue, right.

I should have added, where he'll be habored by Jehovah's loving org to continue his sexual assualts (having free access to lots of women, and even *childen*) and he won't have to fear that his victims will go to the police. They, of course, wouldn't want to be disfellowshipped. So he can work on the elders and have a great gig going for quite some time.

Ugh. Glad she finally did something about it. Wonder what her standing in the congregation will be for finally leaving the jerk and THEN telling the media that her religion kept her from doing so earlier. What a reproach upon Jehovah's wonderful org..
Maybe the fact that he sexually asaulted her sister finally gave her "scriptual" grounds so the WTS gave the go ahead...

i have read many posts old and new and can't help but wonder why many of you just don't let it go?
some of you have expressed bitterness and disgust over what the wts has done to you.

Will there ever come a time where you will say I have had enough with the bashing, I am moving on with my life. How can you call yourself free when you spend so much time talking about your life as a jw? Why not let that part of your life go forever? I cannot help but wonder, why do you pause here to read these comments? Why don't YOU just move on and go to a place in which you feel people are more positive??? You were drawn here for a reason. Most of us are as well. If you don't like what you see here, move on. For most of us, we've endured a lot of pain at the expense of the WTS. It's incredibly comforting and supportive to know that we are not alone. With all due respect, take your free psychological advice and move on.
this morning i heard a faint knock at my door.
i answered it to find two nicely dressed young women who i knew had to be jws.
they introduced themselves and offered me the latest magazines with the awake being the one being most prominent.
The last time I was formally contacted by JW's, I was living overseas. I man and his very young daughter called on my door, and although I didn't speak their language, I knew exactly who they were. When I said, "I only speak English," they pulled out an Awake English. I didn't have the heart to say no, esp in front of the sweet little girl.
Ah, so much for apostacy. I'm human, after all. I know they take babes door to door for a reason.
i was talking to a witness who is still in and she said they gave a talk at the hall, about submissive wives and were told that if the husband wants to go somewhere for the holiday and the wife want to go somewhere else she will need to be respectful and do what the husband wants.
and she can go on her prefered choice of holiday the following year...... .
the husband is to make all major decisions such as where they will .
I remember those articles about the woman managing the household duties and "cooking healthful meals" for the family. I also remember reading garbage about how women were physically and psychologically dependent on men. Something like "it's been proven that women flourish better with a ceiling of authority."
Good God. No, it's not a joke to the JWs. Just a joke to most everyone else in the free world.
throughout the years after having come to know through your marriage to my daughter you have been a very kind and thoughtful person, sometimes more than my own son.
i don't think that a mother-in-law could want a finer person for a son than you.
however, it is very unfortunate that i will have to change the way that i will relate to you now and in the future.

I don't know about you, but even as a JW (indoctrinated as a child), I never agreed with the concept of shunning. It's heartless, cruel, and goes against all standards of normal human interaction and charity. I remember deliberately smiling at a df'd person who sat at the back of the hall. I also said hello to a couple when I saw them in public. I'm not saying I'm *better* than anyone, it's just that someone who *really* believes it's okay to cut ties with loved ones simply because they don't accept watchtower teachings has to have some flash of lightening before they see how wrong it is. JW's need to see that shunning doesn't work. It doesn't make people contrite, it doesn't make people come to their senses. It just pisses them off. All it does is tear friends and families apart. They need to see that the logical reaction people will have is not to draw closer to them, but to find strength within themselves until the JW works out what his priorities are. If he ever can.

Most dubs are not particularly quick learners. They are not taught to think for themselves. This is patently obvious in her letters. She's supressing *her* feelings and blindly following a heartless org that has caused a great deal of abuse and suffering for family members.
I think Yesterday's child's first responsibly is to himself and his family. He can depend on her for nothing at this point. She's made it clear she doesn't respect him. Hopefully SHE'LL come around. She's trying to call shots that aren't hers to call.

And what's your point here? Are you *condoning* the WTS? To me what's a joke is the hypocritical, self serving cover ups at the expense of possibly the worst invasion of the rights of children. All to try to keep up the JW facade of "Jehovah's organization." And *then* trying to hide behind constitutional rights to give them exemption from harboring child molesters? Unbelievable.
What an utter sham.
