I would look at current Bible Student websites.
Here is one:
i know that present-day jehovah's witnesses believe that 144,000 are to go to heaven and rule alongside jesus, and that the survivors of armageddon along with those who will be resurrected are to live on earth with the prospect of living here forever.. questions:.
> what did pastor russell and the bible students originally believe about the earth?.
> did they believe that the earth would always exist and that it would become a paradise?.
I would look at current Bible Student websites.
Here is one:
i was out thrift shopping where my sister lives.
before i went in to the store, i went to donut shop a few doors down.
as i walked up, there by the window was a family and others eating donuts.
fulano, in the US, a person's car is their castle, their status is judged by the cars they own. It carries over into the congregations here. So it is a no-no although the 2-door restriction is a unofficial restriction that varies from congregation to congregation. I knew pioneers that had 2-door cars because they are less expensive and that was all they could afford. One of my cousins had a car that was valued for its speed. No one said anything in this are, they were impressed by the good price he got it at.
leaders of the jehovah’s witnesses ordered to destroy confidential records.
a letter obtained by inq has shed light on the secretive methods the jehovah's witnesses are undertaking to erase the impact of child sexual abuse within the sect.. by georgia wilkins sept 10, 2019. a body representing the jehovah’s witnesses in australia has written to all elders of the group ordering them to destroy confidential records, including notes taken by elders investigating child sexual abuse, in an instruction that has enraged survivors of abuse inside the secretive christian sect.. in a letter obtained by inq, dated august 28, a body called the christian congregation of jehovah’s witnesses (australasia) instructs elders to destroy so-called judicial hearing records and certain congregation notes.. “we ask that each elder check his personal computer, or hard copy files, and even his meeting bag, to ensure that no confidential correspondence is retained outside the congregation’s confidential file,” the letter states.
it also directs elders to destroy information aired against so-called “wrongdoers”: “if this ‘wild talk’ is recorded in detail, it may not be accurately assessed when reviewed out of context,” it says.
It shows how arrogant the WTS is thinking that anything could be kept secret from undercover PIMOs. And that they could hide anything from their god.
Perhaps they are saying what the Jews said in Ezekiel while worshipping a false image in their god's temple:
Jehovah has left the land, and he is not seeing.
looking at the most recent wt the study article focuses on the jubilees.
the made a separate box in the article to highlight the math behind jubilees, and i'm wondering if they're trying to get people thinking and stir up the pot without actually making a false prophecy.
for instance: jubilees happened every 7 times 7 years.
My husband's theme for 2034
No more in '34.
Genesis 6:3---120 years pronounced on the pre-flood people on earth after which god would destroy them.
1914 + 120 = 2034
this is a true story.
it's about a sister named henriette venema.
she was a very loyal jw.
I ignored that advice especially if I were the family member/friend assigned to help (call 911) that person with any medical emergencies. No one will ever make that decision for me.
I would point out to the brothers in charge that they were placing themselves in a deeply responsible position that they did not have legally.
I have never heard anything like that announced at the big venues I attend for music events.

I never made a deal of if a jw had a nice car and had the means to pay for it. What bothered me when that person came over and counseled or criticized me for having a nice car.
In fact, it always bothered me when someone counseled me for doing the same thing they were doing and being hailed as a good jw.
do you support free choice to wear a political hat or article of clothing?
if someone wants to put a bumper sticker on their car in support of a political candidate or party, should they be able to do it without fear of being maligned or abused?
?.
I did not say the message was offensive, just that I might offend someone unknowingly if I wore such clothing.
I find it more productive to concentrate on what we have in common.
As to buying products that are designed to advertise the maker, I avoid that, they should pay me. Whether sports, political slogans, carrying signs in the street, etc., I don't feel that is the best form to exchange ideas and are limited in their scope.
i'm a postman so i get 4 to 5 hours every day with my headphones on and i'm really chewing through some stuff.
i'm after science (evolutionary biology and anthropology especially), history of religion and comedy.
old sci-fi audio books are also a favourite.
At first I thought you were going to start a podcast.
I don't watch them so far.
If some knows of something that is entertaining but not crude, I'd be interested.
a police campaign to get the public to prepare a "grab-and-go" bag in case of emergencies has been both criticised and mocked by social media users.. a police scotland tweet urged people to pack essentials such as a first aid kit, radio, torch, and food and water.. its recommendations were part of an annual preparedness month, which is being promoted by local authorities and emergency services across the uk.. however, the police force has been accused of scaremongering.. the tweet read: "september is preparedness month.
emergencies can happen at any time and it's recommended to have a #grabbag ready containing essential items including medication, copies of important documents, food/water, torch, radio and other personal items.".

I remember talking to a coworker who had lived in California in the "fire" zone. A fire came up quickly and he was not prepared. He had no time to gather up his important papers all over the house, think about what else he should grab (almost forgot the dog). After that he started putting important things together in one place in a carry bag. He added things when he realized that he would need it. The most important thing his family rehearsed, was where they would gather in one spot (with a backup) and count heads so everyone would get into the car. They also did the same if they were split up for any reason have a central gathering place.
People at work and school have fire drills to get people to know and remember automatically where the fire doors are (also an alternative if that is blocked by fire), where to go outside the building far enough away, have a particular place their bureau should gather and have a head count. The fire department would time the employees and then have reminders for things that should be adjusted.
Why not at home?

LV101, just stating my personal impressions. I don't like to wear any products that advertise the company's logo or name, sports, or events for charity themes. I have no need to advertise my own personal opinions that way and offend someone.
If others want to do wear such things, that is their decision. But I thought I was being asked my feelings about it, not saying I should impose them on others.
