I'm like Goldilocks:
Not too strict and not too liberal,
in my experience, there were three types of witnesses.
some were barely witnesses while others were extremely conservative types who followed the letter of the law.
and then you had those in the middle who just went with the flow.. i knew many witnesses who “felt safe” being in a stricter environment.they were actually proud that they belonged to such and such congregation because it was filled with strict bethelites..

something fun for those of us taught to speak an entirely unique and pure language.
there have been posts in the past in this forum but perhaps some have new ones after having kept up with jehovah's chariot as the light gets brighter.

hi all, i've not read the forums for awhile as i've been trying to move on with my life but i'm back and posting for the first time feeling like i cant get a grip.
so i'm wondering for those of you that have seen a therapist and say that it truly helps, what can be accomplished?
i'm just really skeptical, but starting to feel desperate.
I think seeing the right kind of therapist could be helpful. The best one I had had been a survivor of a cult herself.
You might find this woman's books helpful, Bonnie Zieman, she is an ex-jw and a qualified, professional therapist herself. She has worked with Barbara Anderson on the WTS abuse situation as well.

it's seems that even the revised edition of the book revelation: it's grand climax a hand was wrong again.. in the 2019 agm david splane "clarified our understanding of the prophecy recorded in joel 2".
clarified?
you mean he done a 180 reversal.. from revelation: it's grand climax a hand page 143, para.
Actually, Rutherford left it all to Fred Franz and did not get involved in the interpretation of prophecy.
Yea I can picture Mad Freddy and boozer Rutherford sitting around and attaching "meaning" to some of the crap in Daniel and Revelation
so i'll be speaking on a panel as part of the "when rights and religions collide" event next saturday, october 19. if you'd like to attend you can learn more here:https://rightsandreligions.com/.

Wish I could be there.
from the official agm report: are you completely sober?.
brother geoffrey jackson made practical application of texts in the christian greek scriptures that use a term that literally means “sober.” he also stressed the importance of continuing to ‘keep our senses completely’ (literally “being sober perfectly”) during these last days.—1 peter 1:13.. .

i saw this mentioned on reddit but no link - i found the article form this weeks bible study..... in the “congregation bible study” part of the meeting this week there was a part that said and i quote: “only jehovah god and his son can receive someone into the heavenly kingdom or the paradise on earth under that kingdom.
we should diligently cultivate friendship with them by using what material riches we have in supporting kingdom interests”.
.
The Mormons practice tithing, having members present their income tax filing and calculate the amount of tithing by the "gross" amount. Tithing implies that their salvation is tied to money.

When my husband did accounts as an MS/and elder, he was told to be sure to ready all the acknowledgement letters from the WTS on the platform, usually the part "accounts report" regarding the donations sent in. He was told it would be indirect way to remind the "brothers and sisters" to donate. I don't know if that do that any more or even give a monthly account of the donations that month and the expenses, and whether they were in the black or in the red.
If that wasn't dunning every month, and every letter.
Edit 1 here is a quote from the 2016 God's Kingdom Rule publication:
https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1102014257?q=accounts+report&p=sen
Each month, the brother who cares for the congregation’s accounts prepares a financial report, which is read to the congregation.

10 min: Local announcements. Read accounts report and donation acknowledgments. Discuss the branch letter, which appears on page 1.
i came across this article written in 2004 by an evangelical.. “when did jerusalem fall?”, rodger young, journal of the evangelical society [jets], 47/1 (march 2004), 21-38.. http://www.rcyoung.org/articles/jerusalem.pdf .
these are the conclusions of the 18-page analysis.
(1) jerusalem fell in the fourth month (tammuz) of 587 bc.
a watcher, are you a faithful jw?
Fixing the "true" date affects whether the dates like 1914, 1918, 1919 are scriptural per the WTS.
