Secret Elders Book? Bwahahaha!

i remember a couple of decades ago when the internet was relatively young and the wt was at war with it, that they were battling to keep the pay attention book secret, commencing legal action against anyone who published it online (and of course, trying to out anyone who leaked it).

i think it was a norwegian skeptics organisation who had it available for download and dared the wt lawyers to come after them.. so i guess the new shepherd the flock book came out to try and put the genie back in the bottle and reassert some air of mystery and secrecy back into the equation.. so i typed jehovah's witnesses secret elder book into google.

PON, In fact, the phrase "governing body" never occurs in the bible ever. Using Acts 15, the WTS does as you say try to "imply" it does. This is how they do it, they say or write "the governing body (Acts 15)" implying that the phrase appears there. Many a long-time jw will assume it does, until I showed them it was not there. Long-time jws don't look that scripture(s) up any more, they have memorized a scripture that does not exist. Before 1971, the WTS never capitalized the phrase "governing body" and the governing body in the present was considered the board of directors of the WTS. What deceivers..

'Governing Body' is more a secular term IMHO. Yet they try to imply there was one in Bible times. The deception is full on with this Corporation faking as a religion.

The WTS re-invents its past by "editing out" old comments, and asking members to toss the old one. Not all jws are "obedient" not want to toss away previous study notes they made, or buy another publication (not free back then to members). One night, at a "congregation book study" in a private home, an elder new to being a jw, asked a question from the publication as to time in the bible. One older "brother" started talking about a creative day being 7,000 years ago, where in the new version of the book, now said thousands and thousands of years. The conductor corrected him, but afterwards that brother showed it to the conductor, an old version. How embarrassing, Often what the WTS does it stop mentioning an old teaching, and enough people die from that generation, and the new ones haven't a clue. Did the same with the teaching of 1975.

Tonus, I missed this response. You said what I figured out. "blondie: Yet the WTS claims confidentiality under the clergy-penitent basis as to reporting child abuse cases to secular authorities identifying themselves as "clergy."

In other words, they do not have a clergy, until it is convenient to have one.

The WTS speaks out of both sides of the mouth, often.

● Can an anointed Christian who is disfellowshiped later be reinstated and still have the heavenly hope?

Yes, that is possible. Of course, in each case Jehovah God is the one to determine whether he will extend forgiveness.

The fact that this is possible is borne out by what we read in the apostle Paul’s letters to the Corinthian congregation. He wrote to Christians who had been anointed by holy spirit and given the hope of heavenly life. Paul addressed them as “you who have been sanctified in union with Christ Jesus, called to be holy ones.”—1 Cor. 1:2; 15:49.

One of these anointed Christians began to practice fornication. When he evidently did not repent and stop his immorality, Paul directed the congregation to disfellowship him. (1 Cor. 5:1-5, 9-13) However, it seems that this disfellowshiped person thereafter did sincerely repent. He is understood to be the person whom Paul was referring to in his second letter when he advised the Corinthians to forgive and accept back the former sinner.—2 Cor. 2:6-11; 7:8-13.

When that man was reinstated into the congregation, what was his hope? Had he lost the heavenly calling, and had his hope now been changed to everlasting life on earth? No, for the earthly hope is not, as it were, a second-chance prospect...

I agree with slimboyfat, that the elders of a judicial committee, would never let someone before them say that, not even read a letter of that, would not go past 1st paragraph. Now, if it was for your benefit, I can see that to get your ideas together in writing. I couldn't even read very far. Best to make it brief and to the point.

I have not read the other comments, but in searching the WOL, I found this in the Study Notes of Romans on 6:7: where the WTS also references Romans 6:23 (see also notes on John 5:29): has been acquitted: Or “has been released (pardoned).” Lit., “has been justified.” The Greek word di·kai·oʹo used here is often rendered “to declare righteous.” The context shows that Paul was discussing spirit-anointed Christians alive at that time. They had been baptized into Christ Jesus and had received the valid prospect of heavenly life. However, in order to be anointed with holy spirit and accepted as spirit-begotten sons of God, they had to die figuratively to their former course of life as imperfect humans and have their sins forgiven by God. Then they could have human perfection imputed to them. In discussing this with regard to anointed Christians, Paul was drawing on a fundamental truth. He knew that the penalty for Adam’s sin was death. (Ge 2:17) So Paul reasons that one who has died has been acquitted from sin because by means of his death, he has paid the full penalty for sin. At Ro 6:23, Paul says: “The wages sin pays is death.” So when a person has died, his sinful record no longer stands against him. And if it were not for Jesus’ sacrifice and God’s purpose to resurrect the person, he would never live again. Still, he would remain acquitted from sin, since God would not reexamine his case and then sentence him to further punishment. (updated 2023)

They did have a secondary remnant class prior to 1935, when memorial attendance reached 95,000. No, the WTS says that the man "df'd" from the Corinthinan congregation, was "reinstated" but was still anointed.

I saw that somebody compared the fact that some non-jews left with the jews during the Red Sea salvation. But The WTS compares this to an executional judgment, like the flood. Noah and his family did not receive this judgment, everyone who died IN the flood did according to the WTS. Those people were considered being executed by God during a "judgment period." The WTS has said many times in the past that only baptized jws will survive Armageddon (including their minor children who are not old enough to be accountable for their actions). The WTS is very crafty separating these statements and seeding them through many articles over the years. Check statements made by the WTS about what the mark is at Ezekiel 9:4-6 and who have it.

I suspect that the org has already instituted in Norway the procedure used for decades in other lands (for example, Greece) where a non-official marriage talk is given by an elder at the KH and then the couple goes down to the right govt. agency and registers the marriage as a civil event, not a religious one.

Careful, that's correct, used in Greece where marriages were not recognized unless done by the Greek Orthodox, and in Catholic countries, where divorces for adultery were not recognized either, so people would just move on to common-law spouses. The WTS approved the marriages and when the rule was lifted by the government/Catholic church, their marriage was recorded officially.
