Its just a matter of time before the gb make themselves disappear,,,before Armageddon.
And vanish. But the WTS denies that is the rapture, sounds like it is to me.

it's interesting that when watchtower is referred to as the borg, it immediately brings to mind the scenes where individuals such as captain piccard are held prisoner within a vast collective hive type prison and unable to leave.
they are then turned into drones.
in fact here is how wikipedia explains it.. the borg are a fictional alien group that appear as recurring antagonists in the star trek franchise.

Thanks for that clarification, Rattigan "The term "Borg" was used because it was a short form of Brooklyn ORGanization. And it stuck because it fit the Borg hive mind."
I found this is a post on JWN "The WT revised edition of Jesus words
And a post about what BORG means from long ago on JWN: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/113103/what-does-term-borg-mean

Thanks for that Alpaca, originally posted by Outlaw...great find.
having been asked to prepare and present a general knowledge inter-pub quiz, i decided to include a question relating to jw's.
there were 12 teams in all, 4 persons to each team.
this was the question:.
2012 Jeopardy The category was "Religion"
The question was: "Joseph Rutherford of this group had his followers play sermonettes on record players when going door to door"
Someone actually got it right...I wonder how many jws would have known the answer?
so i just caught a glimpse of this new wt magazine(study edition) of course.. from dec 28th titled.
"what do your prayers say about you".
so now they are focosing on every aspect of our lifes even our actions during prayer.
Holding hands..."STEPHEN, a Witness from Northern Europe, was assigned as a missionary to an African country. While strolling through town with a local brother, he was startled when the brother took hold of his hand.
The thought of walking down a busy street holding hands with another man was shocking to Stephen. In his culture such a custom has homosexual connotations. (Romans 1:27) Nevertheless, to the African brother, holding hands was purely a gesture of friendship. The rejection of the hand would signify a rejection of the friendship....What if a custom does not please us? Should it automatically be rejected? Not necessarily. The custom of males holding hands, mentioned earlier, was perfectly acceptable in that particular African community. When the missionary noticed that other men were walking around holding hands, he felt more at ease."
Well, there it is writing, but remember the tag phrase the WTS, be careful not to stumble someone which covers all cultural differences. If it bothers just one person, you have to stop it. 1998 WT October 1, p. 19

fedup, some see the bs but are afraid they will lose contact with jw family and friends if they say anything. Or they want to find some other source of spiritual but can't find any they see as better. Some have to wait till the bs gets so high that they will have to eat it to stay. BS got too high for me, I left and found who my real family and friends were.

1881 "To our understanding the general call to this joint heirship with our Redeemer as members of the New Creation of God, ceased in 1881." Studies In the Scriptures Series VI - New Creation 1915 ed. p.95 "To our understanding the general call to this joint heirship with our Redeemer as members of the New Creation of God, ceased in 1881." A noteworthy example is the date for the sealing of the 144,000, a date constantly changed. Russell originally set it as being 1878. This was moved to 1881, 1910, 1914, 1925, 1931 and finally 1935. In 2007 it has admitted as unknown.
The dates above and their meaning as it evolved can be found at www.jwfacts.com
Russell had said that all 144,000 had been chosen by 1881 and presented a number of Biblical reasons why this was the case.
"Remember, too, that the Scriptures proved to us in various ways-by the Jubilee Cycles, the 1335 days of Daniel, the Parallel Dispensations, etc.-that the "harvest" or end of this age was due to begin in October, 1874, and that the Great Reaper was then due to be present; that seven years later-in October, 1881-the "high calling" ceased, though some will be admitted to the same favors afterward, without a general call being made, to fill the places of some of the called ones who, on being tested, will be found unworthy." so my wife ran into a elder i new 10 years ago and invites him to dinner!!!!!

WingCommander, at least since Rome came and carried away the Jews and non-Jews came in lived there until 1948, and that ended it until 1948 when a new secular nation was established. Yes, too, at one time Israel was fighting against non-jewish nations, not necessarily Arabs though. There are so many feuds going on between groups that have last for a long time, and I think they have really forgotten how it started.
this was prompted by some comments in another thread, but since it was somewhat "off" the original topic, i'm posting/asking seperately.... i was born in 1960, and baptized as a infant in a catholic church.
obviously i have no personal memory of this, and only know, because i was told, and we had a family photo of my parents holding me before the baptismal font while the priest prepared to do the sprinkling.
i was taken probably no more than 3 times to the catholic church in my early childhood and had no clue as to what was going on.. from the ages of 10 to 12 i attended a methodist sunday school, rarely the actual church service, but sang with the class in an annual christmas presentation in the church.. in the 1980s, studying with jehovah's witnesses, and considering baptism, i was told i had to write a letter to any religious group i had previously been involved with, stating i no longer wished any contact, wanted to be removed from their membership lists and witnessing as to why...(separation from satan's world, false religion, babylon etc.).
Yes, the WTS has very little that is correct; in print they at least try to put on a good face; forgetting how easy it is for non-jws to get ahold of the "secret" books/info on the internet. Some religions are seeing a decrease. I don't try to determine that by one congregation or faith. Some are seeing increase. It went well with the lady. She loved having me come, I did warn her that not many jws stick by the scriptures. In my quest to find a group, I realized that the WTS is not the only one that has updated their teachings. Or also see themselves as the only true religion. I just keep my faith personal, not needing a human go-between. I don't really care about bible interpretation, who can know the mind of god? I focused on how to treat people like Jesus did and study those points, and then ask her could she see ways she could do that or do more of. That was the start of my exit from the Watchtower organization. Blondie
