Me too, but the WTS would not do that, jws would wonder why...but then elders can be df'd for adultery and get back in just 3 years, seen it happen.

AMIII reappointed at GB
by Gorb inbethel's morning worship was concluded with the announcement that antony morris iii is reappointed at the governing body with effect from july 2, 2025.. the reason for this deeply considered decision is the new understanding of toasting before consuming a drink.
the appointment of brother morris is an evidence of jehovah's blessing on the careful and conscientious efforts of the governing body.. g. .

Snakes had legs until Eden curse! Watchtower 1880 till 1974!!!
by Witness 007 inoften flicking through watchtower bound volumes i would see pictures of eden which shows the snake in the tree of knowledge with legs??
even the photo drama of creation shows a snake with legs.. watchtower 1964 p.352 "genisis 3;14 {snake}on your belly you will go and dust you shall eat...before god curse it the snake had legs, that elivated it above the ground...god transformed it's body so that it ceased to have legs and was able to move on it's belly.".
god's eternal purpose 1974 "god did not put a curse on the whole serpent family...it had only been victimized by satan.. forrest gump watchtower science is price-less!.

Acluetofindtheuser, "Wow! I'm shocked they allowed for that kind of nudity in the publications back then. Women's breasts could be shown in print from 1914 till the 1950's. What changed where everyone turned into prudes?" Amazing that Adam could not have a beard, but he could be naked. (As a child, I thought he and Eve must have gotten serious sunburns). Some of those pictures were lifted from other religious pictures, not generated in-house. By the 1950's, housewives were shown in dresses and high heels cooking and doing dishes. Looking at past pictures in WT publications for early times to now, is an education in itself.

I wondered myself when I viewed the #4 GB video...now I understand, perhaps they hired a hairdresser for him, realized he could not see (though he is spiritually blind), and had a speech therapist work with him to control his distracting mannerisms. :)

Gorb, I was going to do a search on Google, too crazy to be true. BTW, just because Tony is no longer a GB member doesn't mean he is not considered one of the "anointed" as defined by the WTS. Even if had been df'd, and then reinstated, he would still be "anointed" not demoted to the great crowd.

Bible-based versus Biblical
by Vanderhoven7 injehovah’s witnesses continue to say their religion is completely bible-based as if this proves they are the one true religion.. gilles gray writes:.
jehovah’s witnesses have a hard time understanding/accepting that the mere fact their teachings are ‘bible-based’ doesn’t establish that those teachings are true/biblical.. the most obvious, simple logic highlights their misconception….
jehovah’s witnesses and their organisation have a long history of untrue and failed bible teachings.. for example, the watchtower once claimed that:-.

Complex PTSD and Ex JW's
by JRK ini have been diagnosed with complex ptsd by my therapist due to events of abandonment and abuse as a child.
the cult experience of being raised as one of jehovah's witness was a major factor.
i think that the sparlock video and the conti case has brought emotional flashbacks to some of us here, so i wanted to post information that i have found helpful.

Interesting topic, I go to a therapist for many things I recognized as challenges to change, but resisted saying I had PTSD...but I wised up. He has helped me see it is the result of being in a controlling group (he does not like using the word cult) and the abusive family I grew up. It is another piece of the puzzle on how to become more of a healthy person. I go to a group now for this and I am seeing and learning what other people and been successful doing to make changes.

What Did You Do For Fun That You Felt The WT Frowned Upon?
by NotFormer inin the light of the lifting of sanctions on glass clinking and recent threads on chess and dvds of lord of the rings, was there anything you did for fun, as a hobby or for recreational purposes that you felt might be "taken the wrong way" if it came to the attention of the elders or sister busybody?.

Any science fiction...
Went to fireworks events...
Attended R-rated movies after I saw 2 elders and their wives come out of theater showing an R-rated movie and was told by other elders that was no reason they could not go to an R-rated movie...
Went to movies such as Sleeping Beauty (witch in it), many Disney movies have that theme, one elder said if it was a Disney movie it was okay to watch....
Any hobby...was considered a time waster, get out there and make recruits...
Read science non-fiction books on archaeology and fossils...
Pick anything they "suggested" we not do, I would decide for myself (I did not go out speeding, that makes sense not to)
There are 600 addendums to the Torah called the Talmud...I think the WTS has more than 600

Ding, jws are so afraid they will do something to jeopardize their "everlasting life on a paradise earth in good health and all their loved ones surrounding them (carrot and stick), they will do anything the GB tells them. Definitely, they put the GB first, their god second. That is why too many jws are more worried about what humans might find out, than their god who the GB says the bible says their god sees all things and reads minds and the intent of your heart and jws forget that their god is the only source of the everlasting life they crave.

Yes, hoser, the GB implies their "suggestions" are not "rules" but its adherents/members don't feel the same way, and the really "holy" ones just don't make their own decision, they insist the other jws have to do the same thing.

The WTS focuses on gnat issues and gulps down the camel ones. "The phrase originates from the Bible, specifically Matthew 23:24, where Jesus criticizes the Pharisees for their hypocrisy. They meticulously avoided eating tiny insects (gnats) that were considered unclean under Jewish law, yet they were known to engage in corrupt religious practices and neglect the needs of others. The camel, being a large and unclean animal, serves as a stark contrast to the gnat, highlighting the absurdity of their misplaced priorities." (I wonder if the WTS sees themselves in this, probably not)
