The letter was written by a brother born in the Azores, John Perry, a member of the Brooklyn Bethel family. He suggested that if she did not possess a Bible she should buy one and read the references he cited, dealing with the resurrection hope and God’s promise of a righteous New Order. Through John Perry, the Society began mailing small packages of books and booklets to Delmira, encouraging her to distribute them free of charge. She began doing so right away. Her main territory was the cemetery, since that was where she herself began thinking about God. Her friends and neighbors thought that she had lost her mind because of the death of her son. All alone, several times a week, she would go to the cemetery endeavoring to talk to bereaved ones about the hope of the resurrection. Her newly acquired reputation as “the crazy woman” did not dampen her zeal for preaching the good news, and the more she preached the stronger her faith grew.

3 Many in the congregation know that this sister has had good success
in witnessing by mail. So they give her names and addresses of
individuals to whom they would like her to write. She writes to
individuals that she and other publishers have met in the hospital.
One brother met a businessman who lived in another part of the
country. This man showed interest in the truth. So the brother gave
his name and address to this sister, who continued to develop the
interest by mail. Some names she gets from the obituary column. Or if
there is information in the local paper about new mothers, or engaged
individuals, she writes them, sharing good news from the Scriptures to
encourage them as they embark upon their new responsibilities. The
overseer has gone into the lobbies of apartment houses where the
publishers cannot get in to witness, and he has copied the names and
apartment numbers off the mailboxes so that this sister can contact
these individuals by mail. Names and addresses have been obtained from
the phone book as well as other sources.

I can’t find it!
by Truth and Justice ini need some serious help on something that i read here on this board, and so i am going to do my best to explain what i’m looking for.
i need this, so i can’t share with my brother who is still in.. it has to do with the organization saying in affect that each member in the congregation has the right to decide for themselves what they choose to do, (that is whether they choose to be apart of the organization without repercussions) and that they would not think of interfering with our own conscience, and that if they chose otherwise that it would be their own decision.. now some might think that the society wouldn’t write something like that, but they did, and i read it, and after reading it, i said to myself “they don’t follow this, they never have.” .
if you could locate this for me, i would be very grateful!.
