Many HLC brochures are not published by the Watchtower, which gives them a "way out" of having to take responsibility.
On this page at the bottom it states:

It provides neither medical advice nor treatment recommendations and does not substitute for an appropriately qualified health-care provider. The clinical literature cited is not published by Jehovah’s Witnesses, but it outlines transfusion-alternative strategies that might be considered. It is the responsibility of each qualified health-care provider to maintain awareness of new information, discuss options for care, and assist patients in making choices in accord with their medical condition, wishes, values, and beliefs. Not all listed strategies are appropriate or acceptable to all patients.

This might be some good evidence, but I would still feel better if I could get my hands on a letter. Getting a copy of that letter is going to be very rare.

Orange County, CA: New Case and New Legal Tactic

john roe 1 vs. defendant doe 1, congregation is a child sexual abuse case pending before the superior court of california, orange county (judge john c. gastelum).

Yes, we sure do need that letter or statement of some kind. A while back we sent out some HLC leaked videos, and I thought I might review them to see if there might be an indication of a statement of sorts.

This isn't just about transfusions, this also affects the jobs of many JW medical staff members. If a JW nurse told her superiors that she could no longer administer a transfusion under any circumstances, she might get put on the pink list to get the boot.

I'll check those videos again to see. I wasn't looking for a statement like that the first time I viewed them and it could have slipped right by me.

Yes, I have heard about this letter and I am wondering if it was just sent out to HLC. All the examples that have been shared indicate that it was "read" to medical staff members, but I keep wondering if a copy can be obtained.

I am still trying to see if I can get a copy, which would help greatly to clear up any confusion.

If there are any doctors or nurses that could help us get something in writing, it would be most appreciated.

Enjoyed the Memorial

probably not a popular opinion on here....and haven't been actively attending meetings since 1988....(i know i know a submarine attender) however thoroughly enjoyed attending this evening...was good to see lots of people i remember whilst growing up in this faith, they were genuine and the whole atmosphere was one of love.

sure if i suddenly wanted to become active again and didn't change my lifestyle they would drop me like a bomb.....however i haven't and won't and they didn't and don't.

this works for me.. i cannot demonize the witnesses on what i have seen tonight.
