  Yes, it was a horrible pink and had many many pictures... I think that book came out in the late 50's or very early 60's. I remember using that book when I pioneered in 1960/1.

  i know that much has been said about the 3-15-06 wt study article on false religion, but i wanted to add my two cents because of the way that it affects my situation.. i realized a long time ago that this wasn't the "truth", but i only allowed myself to acknowledge this fact two years ago.

  since then i have been trying to figure out what that realization meant for my faith in god and religion.

  i have more answers now than i did two years ago, but my search for meaning and understanding continues and probably will for the rest of my life.

  All my life as a JW I was taught that other religions never used the name Jehovah. The very first time I went to a Baptist Church, the Pastor used the name Jehovah all through the sermon. What an eye opening experience for me. Made me realize the organization lied about so many other things.

  Thank you so much for all your hard work, Blondie. I still can't get over JW's calling themselves Christians as when I was in (during the 50's) we were told if a householder asks to say we are Jehovah's Witnesses. We never wanted to be associated with the word Christian.

  It really helps me understand where the members of my family who are still in are coming from and what is the current "teaching of the week."

  Again, Blondie, keep up the GREAT work. I know I need to read your comments every week.

  my husband and i were walking through the store today and we passed a display of valentines -- you know, the kind that school kids buy and exchange in the classroom.

  i paused and glanced them over, remembering how much i used to love holidays at school.

  I remember one Mother's Day when I was just 7 or 8 (I'm now a grandma so you know that made a big impression on a little girl). At school we made a Mother's Day present (it was nice smelling soap with net and flowers). When I gave it to my mother all she could do was lecture me on why we did not celebrate Mother's Day. I was crushed. JW's teach their members to be cruel and unloving people.

  Funny, Jesus always said "shall". Can you imagine... doing all this and the only hope a JW has is a may?

  Circuit Overseer Celebrities?

  i am a active jw, but one question i would like to know is why do these 'men' get treated as superstar celebrities when they attend the congregation?.

  for as long as i can remember, there seems to be a 'buzz of excitement' when it is announced that he and his wife are due to visit.

  what is so special about them?.

  Was the same for me when I was in a long time ago. The women of the congregation would compete to be the one who had them for dinner. We thought they were just the greatest. Now that I look back on it, I have no reason for these actions.
