Never heard of that - I remember at my old hall they were locked during the meetings and unlocked at the end.
My father/elder was in charge of that-I could never figure out why, he never finished high school and math was not his best subject.

How many of you shunned others when you were a JW?
by Lady Lee ini know i did.. we had a young fellow who used to live at my grandmother's place.
in may ways he was like family.
after he moved out of my grandmother's place i saw him frequently.

A good friend of mine growing up was DF'd when we were about 16 (for dating a worldly guy). I tried to see her, but she didn't want to talk to me. So when she finally started back to the KH to be reinstated. I went right up to her and said, 'I just wanted to say hi and that I've missed you.'
Later she told me that she got in trouble with the elders because I spoke to her! Tough! Even my mother told me not to talk to her. I said, I don't care, I want to say hi to my friend.

Grrrr Why I hate baking
by Lehaa ini hate to bake, can never get it right.. i can cook briliantly, ask me to cook a gouret meal for 100 people and i can do it, no problems, no sweat.. but get me to bake a cake, can't do it, flop every time.. foe example, just put 12 muffins in the oven.
(my partner, andy, was gonna do them but he hurt his back today and has been laid up on the couch all day, major pain killers.
so i thought i'd do them).
