Scholar, from 607 down to 519 is 87 years not 70 years. It's no wonder you so called scholars don't know anything, you poor people can't add or subtract. That is if you say 607 is the first but if you subtract 519 from 607 it is 88 years.

Scholar, you are no better than the cult your in. If you would read Zechariah 7 verse 3 right you can see they were stll fasting because they ask if they should" practice an abstinence the way I have done THESE O HOW MANY YEARS." It never said 'THOSE' as in the past but said THESE as in the present. Verse 7 God tell them they had been doing it for 70 years. I know when it comes to what the Bible says and what the WTS says, you have to believe the WTS not the Bible. I know this because I was once a JW.You can't even think for yourself that is called "independent thinking" and is against the WTS's rules. They think and you do what they say you can do and what they say you can not do you arn't supposed to do it. But I see your on this post and you arn't supposed to be. I think you are an elder[a fraud]. Others on here may not agree but I know the elders have to cover for the organization. When the elders came to see me, I ask them to show me from the Bible how they came up with 607. They couldn't, the WTS just throws it out in front of you in their puplications without giving a scripture or refrence and you have to be believe it or they lable you an "Apostate". The real truth is, the WTS is run by Apostates.

Desino, I guess we see it different for the desolation of Jerusalem but it could be either and it doen't matter because the main thing is we know the WTS is lying. If Darius's second year is 519 this would mean his forth year would have been 517. Now read Zechariah 7 :3-5. The reason they were weeping on the 5th and 7th month is because it was the 5th month when Jehovah's house was burned [2 Kings25:8] And the reason they were weeping on the 7th month was because this was when Gedaliah was killed. [Jeremiah41 :1] Verse 3 they ask if they should KEEP doing this the way they had been doing all THESE how many years? And verse 5 God said they had been doing it for 70 years. Add 70 to 517=587 You can get 587 also by finding how long the last 4 Babylonian Kings ruled. they are Nebuchadnezzar, Evil-Merodach. Neriglissar, and Nabonidus.

History says 605 was Nebuchadnezzar's first year to rule. starting with 605 as the first down to 587 is his 19th year. History and the Bible agree. WTS agrees with no one but them self.

why disfellowshipped?

Hi Knothead, I am not disfellowshipped but my son and his wife were because they disagreed with the WTS on one of their teachings and my daughter-in-law lost her entire family. I really thought the WTS was God's Organization so I was going to prove it to my son because I wanted them back.I done a lot of research on the subject they disagreed with and found out the WTS was wrong. So I quit going to meetings. The Elders came out and I posed the same question as my son and they couldn't answer it either. they left and called me again and I told them not to bother me anymore and have not heard from them since. When they are wrong the only thing they can do is get rid of you and label you an Apostate so no one will speak to you and that way they are covered.

God's Organization.

jehovah's witnesses believe that the watchtower society received that appointment in the spring of 1919 in fulfillment of the most important scripture in watchtower theology---matthew 24:45-47.. on the watchtower's official website under the heading, 'what jehovah's witnesses believe" they list forty of their teachings.
but their most important teaching, the only teaching that needs to be known------"the watchtower society is god's organization"---is not mentioned.. this from,"captives of a concept" page17.
