  No way I would ever go back to an offshoot of the Society.I don't need an organization to tell me how to live my life. Had enough of that already.

  it appears to me that grant palmer is the mormon equivelant to ray franz.

  if my memory serves me correctly, in the beginning of his discoveries about 607 ray never had the idea to take people away from the organization, he just thought the truth should be told.

  Startingover, Your thoughts are exactly what I have been saying.I was there because I believed it but soon as I done some research, It didn't take me long to get out.I heard several say they wouldn't leave even if it was wrong.They don't want the truth. Can't imagine anyone liking the Meetings, Assembles, and Service that well. I think it is going to take another one of the Society's false prediction and then maybe those who are sincere will get out.I can't imagine why they would need anymore.

  Redhotchilipepper, I am in the same boat as you. I am not DF and if it wasn't for my Kids and grandkids I wouldn't care if I was. The Elders kept calling me wanting to come out and they did once and called a couple more times so I finally told them I wasn't bothering anyone and I didn't want to be bothered and if I wanted to talk to them I would call them. It has been about 5 months and I haven't heard from them anymore. My kids speak and they let my grandkids come to see me so that is better than nothing. Just hoping someday I can have a chance to talk to my kids with out involving the Elders.I know I can't bring anything up for a long time. Hoping the Society makes another prediction that fails again and that might be a start.

  What would be the hardest thing to give up if returning the the 'truth'?

  CF, 2 Chroniicles:35:20 shows Ne'cho came to fight at Carchemish and Josiah went out to meet him. So this, according to the Society would be 625 so what I was thinking is,Josiah could not have been there in 625 if he died in 629.Like you said and History says, they are 20 years off on their dates.

  CF, did you read 2chronicles 35:23-24? It shows he did die at the battle.Maybe I am not understanding it. I will do some more studing.Thanks for the reply.

  Alleymom, I am fairly new here and loved the way you explained 587What made me realize the Society was wrong is Zechariah 7:1-5.This was the forth year of Darius and Society agrees with History that his first year was 521 so 518 is the forth. And what they were doing was asking if they should continue fasting the fifth and seventh month of every year because these were the months when Babylon took Jerusalem. Verse 5 is were God said they had been doing it for 70 years.

  they would have had to fast 90 years to get 607.Which proves they are off 20 years from Josiah to Zedekiah Your way is easier. I hate it took so long for me to find out the truth.I think so many love that organization more than the truth. you count from 518 up to 70 years and you get 587.
