Accident

the back door was sticking and so in order to close it, gave it a pull with all my might.

I think there comes a time when you realise that there is just got to be something more to life than the faith and it's god, and so the search begins. It starts because YOU want to find out more.
You are open and willing to read new things, to discuss, to research and you don't have to have all the answers.
You no longer walk around with blinders on.

I admit it, I believe in evolution.
by Louise inafter leaving the dub religion behind, i read everything that i could get my hands on, be it about other religions, beliefs, gods, occult, evolution - you name it - i read it.
i did this to 'catch up' and to educate myself, so that when i can to a decision it would be an intellectual / educational one.
not just because some book or person told me to believe it.. i have over time and with reading aids come to totally believe and accept evolution.

So over Easter weekend I was house sitting a lovely place. The back door was sticking and so in order to close it, gave it a pull with all my might. My thumb happened to be nestled in the gap of the kitchen door. On looking down at my right thumb I uttered "oh F*#K* three times before it actually sunk it that my whole thumb pad with meat had been detached.
I was by myself. I was pretty calm and there was not much pain. I called my mother and rushed off to hospital. The amount of blood that poured out of my thumb was astounding.
5 injections and 7 stitches later I walked out of the emergency room!
It took two hours to change the dressing,
Now it's thumping and throbbing so much so I feel sick!
Anyhoo - lesson - be very aware of where my fingers are at.
This pic doesn't do the wound justice! Where that red line is above the nail is actually blood filling in the gap. That part need to be pulled down and stitched through my nail to get it back in place.

Okay - just a note - our South African pizza is waaaay different in size to American pizza. So 5 slices is not SO bad.

So far my favorite one of the day is the black olive and feta cheese. Very nom noms and more-ish.
These are also all thin based.
I would like to have a thick based again - haven't had one of those in forever.
I'm eye-ing out the mushroom, chicken tikka.

I did this to 'catch up' and to educate myself, so that when I can to a decision it would be an intellectual / educational one. Not just because some book or person told me to believe it.
I have over time and with reading aids come to totally believe and accept evolution. It makes sense. Sure we may not see monkeys evolving to humans today, but that is because the evolution process has taken place and nature is clever like that
We do still see species adapting though. Adaption takes place over a noticeable time whereas full on evolution takes place over thousands or millions of years.
So Yeah I'm happy with that.
