Strange they should argue over something there's a clear WT ruling on.
There's probably background to the dispute in other issues as it's hard to believe many elders would go out on a limb to defend the rights of DFed people.
i haven't stopped laughing since i heard this.
a pimo in my last congregation told me that an elder has been removed from his elder position.
apparently he grabbed another elder by the throat, put him up against a wall in the back room and punched him in on the nose... during an elders meeting on thursday evening after the meeting.. the congregation were running round like headless chickens wondering what to do?

Fair enough that what Ray Franz would have wanted is not the final word.
From a reader's perspective however, the addition of an introduction from a Trinitarian, the great crowd booklet, and single pages from ISofCF in the appendix was not worth waiting 5 plus years. Was there some sort of misunderstanding that a new edition needed to be produced before it could be republished? I think the majority of people just wanted to read the original book as quickly as possible.
I didn’t say the introduction mentioned the Trinity but it was written by someone who promotes the Trinity against non-Trinitarian “cults”. Ray Franz didn’t even allow Randy Waters to sell his book because he was a Trinitarian. Just saying. It’s not what you think, it’s what Ray Franz would have thought.
The other question is who holds the copyright of the Great Crowd booklet?
Plus if the appendix really contains single pages from ISofCF that doesn’t sound terribly practical or helpful. Why not simply republish the book?

The letter says these old items from the bookroom should first be displayed to the congregation for a last opportunity to take them before they are disposed. That's a pretty odd way to try to hide something. I suggest people are misunderstanding the purpose and intent of this list.
i'm pimo, very much against disfellowshipping, and going to a meeting leaves me feeling confused and angry at the best of times.
except an elder asked me on thursday night if i can start giving a ride to a disfellowshipped woman because she lives near me and nobody else from the hall lives in my village.
it seems the elder and his family who have been giving this woman a ride for the past six months can no longer stomach the time it takes them to go out of their way.. i thought all normal publishers weren't to have any contact with disfellowshipped people?

Another year in the doghouse for smoking? Can the elders be charged with unusual or cruel punishment? Was this even the original sin, or just an extra serving shunning on top?

Possibly the woman is about to be reinstated but the elder didn't deem fit to divulge that piece of information. So he is preparing to divest himself of the chore of giving her a lift.
If you don't want to do it you could just make an excuse. Although I can't come up with one off the top of my head.
A new introduction written by a Trinitarian from the Watchman Foundation? I wonder what Ray Franz would have made of that.

Not library, book room.
Book room manager was the height I rose to in this organisation. So this is my level of competence. ;-)

I think this is just talking about tidying up the book room, not a prohibition on KHs or individuals keeping these books.
The only books marked "destroy" are ones with old policy in them, such as the publisher books. The reason for "destroying" these books, I suppose is a practical one, insomuch as they don't want anyone picking up an old book and applying old policy. For example the old publisher book instructed to treat unbaptised publishers who have been removed as disfellowshipped. This is no longer policy.
