  I like part in the elders book that says: just because you paid for the local KH, and are responsible for its upkeep, don’t get the idea that you somehow “own” the local KH!

  Did you know that traditional Christadelphian teaching is that only baptised believers (of their version of Christianity) will be resurrected? Billions of humans who never heard the Christadelphian message will never be resurrected and will never get a chance at salvation. On the other hand, baptised Christadelphians who leave the religion and later die, will get a resurrection and another chance, despite having left the religion.

  Oh man, the part that says a disfellowshipped person can get a lift to the KH if it’s in a bad neighbourhood and he has no other way to get there... but he has to be treated like on public transportation with no conversation during the trip. To top it off, an elder will monitor the “arrangement” in case it is being “abused”.

  I think it is clear who is being abused in this sort of arrangement.

  These people have no humanity and no common sense.

  jehovah`s witnesses make a big deal about the 2 or 3 witnesses in judicial decisions yet they ignore that evidence when it suits them.. firstly :.

  regarding the length of a generation matthew ch.1:17 gives a strong clue ,their are 3 lots of 14 generations mentioned which equal 42 generations from the time of abraham to jesus .. watchtower publications give abrahams birth as 2018 bc......they also give jesus birth as of 2 bc a period of 2016 years .

  Good point, a reasonable generation is around 40 or 50 years.

  And the idea that a “generation” can last longer than a human lifespan (as we are currently stretching the limits from 1914) is just insane.

  2. Guidance of God Brochure: The brochure The Guidance of God—Our Way to Paradise has been discontinued, and any remaining stock should be discarded. Publishers may instead make use of the brochure Real Faith—Your Key to a Happy Life.

  The Guidance brochure (published in 1998) was aimed directly at Muslims and contained frequent references to Islam and the Quran. As far as I can make out the Real Faith (2010) brochure makes no explicit reference to Islam. Is there any reason Watchtower is disposing of their Islam-focussed literature and replacing it with a generic brochure?

  Some congregations didn’t have enough copies to distribute. Each person in attendance was supposed to receive a copy but some went away empty handed - and not pleased.

  How short of funds must Watchtower be that they can’t print enough Bibles?

  And the revised Spanish Bible has still not been released. Is that because millions of Spanish Bibles would need to be printed, for many publishers in poorer countries?

  I think all parts of Europe that speak German: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Belgium, Luxembourg, and maybe other places with German congregations.

  PIMO GB members?

  the gb individuals are chosen not by holy spirit as we well know but by being selected for one quality only, that of implaccable loyalty to the watchtower organisation.. to be up there requires the fixation that the org is being used by god -- even though now in the small print they claim they are not divinely guided -- what a laugh, what a puzzle?.

  the more i watch their antics the more implausible they seem.

  their function: to persuade as many people as possible to conform to their own whacky beliefs.. most jws eventually leave the fold, only one third remain as we understand, so will any of the gb become pimo?.

  On the other hand I think even Raymond Franz took a long time to reject the organisation outright. After all his book is basically an account of his struggle to remain inside the organisation and his eventual expulsion. Even after he left, he still believed a lot of the doctrines, minus the chronology and shunning. So judging by his life course, it seems he really did believe it, even as he was trying to reform JWs, so it’s not a huge leap to assume that most GB members are true believers.

  From what I’ve read, the most sceptical GB members may have been the likes of Swingle, Greenlees (who was chucked out) and even president Knorr.

  But who really knows? People are complicated and multifarious. No doubt the GB has included the whole range from true believers to compete cynics. It’s possible that GB members even go through phases of belief and unbelief over their careers.
