Same in Germany paradiseseeker, there were rumours that the new NWT was ready to go, and a similar announcement at the convention that “we don’t have it”.
They cant afford it! There can be no other explanation.
i have noticed some posters (with frustration) asking for information regarding the nwt in various language editions.
here is a list of some of the nwt revised language editions published so far:.
albanian; arabic; armenian; chinese traditional 2017; danish 2017; dutch-netherlands 2017; estonian; haitian creole; italian 2017; korean 2014; modern greek 2017; norwegian 2017; portuguese 2015; romanian; russian; swahili 2017; swedish 2017; ukrainian; vietnamese.. not yet published: .

Maybe the NWT 2013 will never be released in Spanish. The only reason for delay I can think is cost. And you need to ask yourself, is Watchtower’s financial position likely to improve or worsen in the coming months and years? From every possible angle (assets already sold, abuse claims mounting, donations down because no literature) their finances are going to get worse not better. So if they can’t afford to print the NWT in Spanish now, when will they ever be able to afford it?
It would be a startling admission of financial collapse if they can’t print the Bible in Spanish and other languages. But the withdrawal of the Yearbook after 90 years continuous publication was also undoubtedly due to cost.
i wonder when the latest copies of the Bible in English were printed? These may stop being produced soon too.
Unless Watchtower has some sort of dramatic reversal of course. But I don’t see where it would come from at the moment.

No Japanese, Polish, Russian or Tagalog either, all languages with large numbers of JWs.
It’s difficult to escape the conclusion that Watchtower is avoiding printing the NWT in major languages. I think this must be for reasons of cost. I can’t think of any other reason the NWT can be translated into Gun, Ewe and Amharic, and so on, but not into Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Tagalog, Russian, Polish.
In fact the only major languages outside English (in terms of JW numbers) I would say are Italian and Portuguese. In the case of Portuguese it was released the same time as English, before the financial crisis struck. So even the exceptions prove the rule.
The case for financial crisis mounts.

It is a bit odd that the 2013 revision is now available is some very obscure languages (Ewe? Gun?) but not in Spanish, German or French. It’s almost as if they’ve avoided the major languages on purpose. Maybe the delay for these major languages is because of cost.
If Watchtower needs to print around 50 million new Bibles at a cost of around 5 to $10 each, that’s approaching half a billion dollars. Can they afford that? I really doubt it.
50 million might seem a high estimate, but I don’t think it is, because every JW wants a couple, plus family and inactive. They already printed over 200 million copies of the old NWT. So 50 million may be a conservative estimate.
By not printing German, Spanish or French versions they may have cut the cost by around a half. But it raises a lot of questions. Will they stop printing English Bibles next?

The delay in the Spanish version may be related to cost. There are millions of Spanish speaking JWs (probably more than English) and most live in poorer countries, able to contribute least for the new Bibles. It may be a loss that Watchtower is not able to withstand at the moment.
I wouldn’t be completely surprised if the Spanish and other versions were released digital-only, although that would appear quite desperate. Not German though, the Germans wouldn’t stand for it. Plus they own the printers now, if that counts for anything.

I had heard before that the Korean revision was published before the English version. Your information seems to confirm that. Also interesting that Portuguese uniquely should be released simultaneously with the English. There was also talk of a smaller revision of Norwegian a few years previously. But there were also minor revisions to the English, such as controversially removing the brackets around “other” in Colossians 1:16; earlier this century. (Coinciding with the paperback version)
There were rumours that the German version was going to be released last year (2017) but it wasn’t. These may have been empty rumours, but it is also possible the release was delayed for some reason. Instead of releasing the Bible itself, small booklets containing the appendices were released in German.
Thanks for the information. Could you give any hint where you got it from?
Affordability is a very real issue with the new Bible. Remember that the project of revision was undertaken before the financial crisis hit Watchtower in 2015. It’s not cheap to print millions of Bibles in dozens of languages. They may regret having undertaken the project. But halting publication of the new Bible at this point would be an embarrassing indication of financial desperation.
in 1991 we build a 250 seat hall and had 125 publishers so about 175 in attendance and filing fast.. just spoke to someone from my old congregation they now have 50 to 60 publishers and 100 in attendance on a good day.. very few pioneers.. seems this is happening everywhere.. karter..

My take on the “mad woman”. She makes one very good point, a mediocre point and a few very poor ones.
It doesn’t follow that a doctor can’t kill and I think it seems unwise, to say the least, to call Assad a “very good man”. So they were stupid things to say.
But the main point she makes is excellent. Why does the news so regularly talk about Assad (and other leaders it doesn’t like) killing people when they don’t talk the same way about Blair, Bush, Obama, and Trump, who have ordered the deaths of milllions? In the case of Bush and Blair very likely torture as well. This is such a blatant double standard that the real question should be: why on earth does it take a mad woman on the street with bulging eyes to state such an obvious truth? Shouldn't such observations be the everyday language of the news? A cynic might conclude that it was the woman’s very mad appearance that allowed her to make such a statement on the news. It’s the type of view that is only allowed a hearing within the framework of “madness”.
in some european countries, "church tax" is levied against members of certain religions.
how each country handles this differs depending on each country's tax laws.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/church_tax.
in germany, a member of a religion that has "public law" status pays an additional 8 or 9 percent on their tax assessments.
I have been to the branch in Vienna a couple of times. I am trying to make sense of the picture on the previous page. Is the bethel the small building on the bottom right hand corner? It looks a bit like I remember. In that case the apartments on the video are aross the road. Not sure if the building is intact or not.
Austrai doesn't seem to have street view for some reason.

I wouldn’t say Assad is a good man. But is he worse than Tony Blair or Bush for example? They gave orders that caused the deaths of millions, and not when they were under immediate threat as the Syrian government has been. There was a Syrian on Radio 4 yesterday who asked why so many are fighting for Assad and why so many Syrians support him if he is a brutal dictator? I don’t know. The people opposing him seem to be mainly violent fundamentalists and western powers, not his own people. I admit I find it confusing. I don’t think we have a clear picture of what on earth is going on. It is no wonder many people are not convinced these chemical attacks are what they are presented to be. These things can be so easily faked now that no amount of footage is convincing. It is a very strange world we live in now. I don’t trust Putin or Theresa May to tell the truth. Everyone has their own agenda.
