Yes the GB seems to have this idea that they can cut all the services they provide to publishers and yet they will get the same level of contributions. In reality JWs can see the cutbacks and will reduce contributions accordingly. So they will not get the financial benefit from cuts that they expect and their financial crisis will get even worse. Throw in increasing legal costs and bankruptcy/collapse begins to look not only possible, but likely.

So What Drastic Money Change is Next?
by OnTheWayOut inokay, they cheapened the product by getting rid of hardcover books.
they reduced printing of mags.
they drastically reduced the number of pieces of printed paper that members would "place" in people's hands in various ways, the biggest one being that they put them on a cart and don't encourage people to take them.they cut d.o.

Yeah it’s all drastic. He says they hope that property sales will enable them to transition to a leaner budget going forward. I see a few problems with that:
1. donations are likely to decline not increase, or remain static
2. cuts in organisations rarely bring the savings hoped for
3. JWs are not equipped psychologically, ideologically, or technically to reduce costs in an efficient manner
4. have they budgeted to afford the increasing cost of legal fees and settlements in abuse cases?
Many good reasons to suspect their financial woes will get worse not better.

3000 properties to sell, not 30,000, my mistake. They’ve probably sold a large number of these by now. What will they do when they run out?

Hang on a minute. Lett gave the increase in donations as a percentage, and here it is given in absolute terms ($30 million). That creates the potential for making a good estimate of the monthly worldwide income of Watchtower. What percentage did Lett say again? And what does that work out at?
I find it interesting that the brother said they need to “calculate the cost” beforehand, and admitted that “not all branches” had done that in the past. Apart from moving the blame onto branches for past mismanagement and away from the GB, this statement is revealing. If Watchtower got into difficulty just through poor financial planning, do we really think they have budgeted for abuse payouts in the coming years? If they have not budgeted for increased legal fees and settlements, then they may find that adjusting to “living within their means” is not enough at this stage.

Kingdom Hall "sale" - new light!
by The Fall Guy inin a town called stevenston on the west coast of scotland, the kingdom hall was closed down approximately 6 months ago and the congregation (named kilbirnie) was assigned to use the kingdom hall of the nearby irvine congregation.. according to an ldc source at mill hill, the kilbirnie kh is scheduled for a refurbishment!
the org boots out the congregation and leaves their kh redundant for 6 months?????????
good planning, ldc.

It’s one of the trumpet blasts.
Previously congregations paid for their own refurbishments. Now they’ve sent all their money to bethel and rely on the organisation to refurbish when necessary. I suspect we will see a lot of KHs fall into disrepair and close in the coming years as bethel refuses to pay.
Anniesland is another KH that has been closed down, and the congregation moved to Maryhill KH.

Wow, what say the collapse deniers now?
Clear admission of financial difficulty, and need to get “back on track”. They say donations increased for a few months after Lett’s appeal in the spring of 2015, but returned to normal by September. The appeal only brought in an extra $30 million. (Less than $5 per publisher) That must have been hugely disappointing.
They have 30,000 properties to sell worldwide, which is being accelerated. Confirmation that they are currently drawing down their assets in order to keep afloat.

JW UK Branch update 2018: "Follow the White Elephant"

Very well done. But I would really appreciate knowing the exact sources and dates of the videos that are included. In particular when was the video of the older brother saying that the branch relocation is costing more than they expected. I have never seen that before.
The purpose of the new branch was originally to print more magazines. Now they won’t print any at all. But they are still building the accommodation buildings. Why? Who for? What are they going to be doing? It’s just weird. I think they’ll need to sell it. What else can they do with it?

What might they do next?
stop printing Bibles
stop printing anything at all
close more branches
cancel or sell new branch in Britain
stop all allowances for circuit overseers, special pioneers and missionaries
send even more people home from bethel
reduce quality and quantity of online output
sell more Assembly halls and Kingdom Halls that are in valuable locations
beg for more donations and stress including WT in your will
sell Walkhill and Patterson and concentrate on Warwick
fundraising: approach wealthy JWs for one off donations in return for access to GB (suspect this already happens)
gather old literature from KHs and sell it on eBay (I think they already do this)
reduce international travel and vacations of GB
(okay the last one was a wild card, I mostly tried to keep it realistic)

What Can A Member Of The Governing Body Get Disfellowshipped For?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini don't think any member of the elite gb can be disfellowshipped while in the office, i think they need to be removed first from being part of the elite ruling class ceos and then latter be df'd if the need be.
i'm of this opinion from what happened to raymond franz, chitty, and greeenlees.. ray, was not df'd for apostacy while on the gb, he was first removed from office given a $10,000 severance package and booted out of bethel, latter he was seen eating with a member that left the clutches of the organization to which the wt corporation put into effect that eating a meal with a df'd or disassociated member is in itself a df'n offence.. i think the watchtower will be very reluctant to df any former gb member because they can do so much damage if they go public like ray franz did..

DFing Ray Franz was a serious miscalculation. He did far more damage out than in. I guess they didn’t anticipate that, or vindictiveness obscured their judgement.
