If God defines what is good, then on what grounds can we judge him? If for example he says obedience or worship are the ultimate good.

What if God doesn’t meet our understanding of goodness?

Why Do People Oppose Jehovah's Witnesses?
by BlackSpirit injesus christ, the son of the most high god, jehovah has this to say: "if the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.
if you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own.
now because you are no part of the world, but i have chosen you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

The quality of apologists is so poor these days it almost makes me want to become an apologist again just to redress the balance. (The conceited implication being, I was a first rate apologist of course.)

They have made a number of comments that indicate they are using the proceeds of property sales to fund day to day operations. What will they do when the property sales end? That’s the question.

Yes, the videos endlessly outlining the scenarios and qualifications for being called a “pioneer” are depressing in the extreme. Who on earth thinks this label is important enough to devote such enormous amounts of time and energy? And is there really nothing they can think of that would be a more productive use of time? Such as supporting people in trouble, looking after elderly people, learning new skills, creating things and doing things together.

Austria Begins Closing Mosques and Deporting Imams
by cofty inaustria, a member of the eu since 1995, is a country of 8.8 million people with a muslim population of around 600,000 mostly turkish immigrants.
in 2015 it passed an 'islam law' prohibiting foreign funding of religious groups and creating a duty for muslim organisations to have 'a positive fundamental view towards state and society'.. many mosques in austria have continued to receive money from turkish muslim organisations so the new right-wing government have decided to enforce the law.
seven mosques have been identified for closure and 60 imams are to be either deported or refused visas.

I don’t know much about Islam at all. I know that I met many normal Turkish people in Vienna getting on with their lives. I never met any extremists or saw any evidence of them. I suspect that these targeted laws will make even the most secular Turkish people feel uncomfortable and wonder whether they are still welcome in Austria. This is an unwelcome and pernicious development.

Whereabouts? I stayed in the most Turkish area of Vienna - Margareten, and I never saw any propaganda on the streets. All I saw Turkish people selling was Profil or Kronen Zeitung.
The government who enacted the anti-Islam laws was already centre/right, and attempted to dampen support for the Freedlm Party by adopting those positions. It didn’t work. You don’t put out a fire by pouring fuel on it. The Austrian government made refugees unwelcome from the very start and they are now exploiting the situation to target the longstanding Turkish community. This is a worrying develoment.
The Green Party won the presidential election. I’d be astonished if they support the anti-Muslim laws. As for the Social Democrats, I don’t know.
