No one is saying Watchtower is collapsing. Watchtower is clearly collapsing. When you look at all the evidence it is difficult to deny, unless you’re Morph.

The true meaning of "Jehovah" and the "overlapping generation" REVEALED!
by slimboyfat inthere has been some renewed interest in the meaning of the name jehovah on the forum in recent weeks.
combined with the ongoing discussion about the new "overlapping generation" teaching, speculation among the friends and among the ex-friends has been reaching something of a frenzy.
so it's perhaps appropriate that a little more should be revealed now about the meaning behind some of the perplexing events that have been taking place.

Proof of God
by MrDantastic ini'm an atheist as i do not see any evidence for the existance of a god.
i encourage critical thinking in everyone and am ready to debate anyone on whether or not there is a god and what that god might be like.

According to YouTube the smartest man in the world says there is a God and heaven. And as I suspected, consciousness is the key. So there we have it folks!

Fewer Americans believe in GOD, yet they still believe in the afterlife.
by James Mixon inexcuse me, don't make sense to me.
what say you...

In any survey you get a certain persentage whose answers simply make no sense, such as people who don’t believe in God but think the Bible is inspired by God or some such nonsense. The problem is words can be construed in many ways. For example someone might say God inspired the Bible the way angels inspired Michaelangelo. Or people may simply be careless in how they answer, or have genuine convictions that are inconsistent. All of us are capable of holding beliefs that are inconsistent if pursued to their logical conclusions (my belief I should drive my car and my belief that global warming is a bad thing). Sometimes people are just irrational too.
Having said all that, don’t Buddhists believe in an afterlife without God as such. So it’s not an unknown position, if a little unusual to western conceptions.
Plus you've got people with non traditional conceptions of God, that might fall outside most notions of “God”: such as pantheists, animists, panpsychists and so on.
Plus you get singularitains these days, some of whom seem to espouse a kind of afterlife without God.
So many possibilities in this amazingly unfathomable universe of ours.

Sex and Rockets - Strange Angel CBS series and Charles Taze Russell
by truthseeker ini'm watching the cbs series strange angel.
it is based on a true story about jack parsons, who along with others, pioneered rocket development in 1930's america.. "strange angel, a drama series created by mark heyman (black swan, the wrestler) and based on george pendle's book of the same name, explores the dramatic intersection between genius and madness, science and science fiction.. the story follows the life of jack parsons, a mysterious and brilliant man in 1930s los angeles, who by day helps birth the entirely unknown discipline of american rocketry, and by night is a performer of sex magick rituals and a disciple to occultist aleister crowley.".
the jet propulsion laboratory is derived from jack parson's initials.

Aleister Crowley is an interesting character. Massimo Introvigne talks about him in a discussion on Satanism here. Apparently the name Crowley is pronounced crawly, as in creepy crawlies. Well worth watching.

Ha that’s fantastic! There is of course a whole genre of alternative history type books that love to make such weird and outlandish connections. Given the size and ubiquity of JWs it’s not at all strange that they should be included. I have sometimes thought there would be great scope for a Da Vinci Code-style mystery featuring JWs in all their wackiness. In fact I started a thread along those lines a few years ago that included the JW pioneers stopped at the Swiss border with billions of dollars in US bonds, the Methuselah Foundation (founded by a JW), Venus project, underground tunnels, and so on. All good conspiracy stuff.

When WWII ended, how difficult was it for the JW's that had been in prison to adjust?
by Sobeit inmy husband seemed to have a hard time..

A common statement when I was growing up was that some JWs who survived prison in Nazi Germnay later drifted away from the truth after the war because they became “weighed down by materialism and worldly influences”. The lesson for us was supposed to be that we must endure the world’s influence because it can be a bigger test even than outright persecution.

Post appeared hours later and can’t edit for mistakes:
Like I said, there is circumstantial evidence to suppose that he uses his terminology correctly, in that there are many videos of him discussing his ideas with other smart people from various backgrounds, including Dennett and Murray. If he was throwing around quantum theories and string theories Chopra-style, you’d think someone would have pointed it out.
