can someone help me to understand what it would mean to a loyal witnes to diassociate yourself, and to the org?
having seen what happened during my husband's df, and his subsequentreinstatement, what would it mean to da yourself?
would you be treated the same as being df?
The results are exactly the same... the DF person gets their label by the elders, when you DA yourself you are initiating it, but the results and the treatment of the person are exactly the same.

That is true... the reasons JWs don't take blood has nothing to do with risk. Believe it or not, one of the most risky things you can do is get in traffic behind the wheel of a car. Talk about risk, thousands die each year in car accidents..... that is scary. Maybe we should give up cars.
Same is true for celebrating Christmas. They don't celebrate because there are risks and you could die. The reasons are a totally seperate issue.
i don't know what the new terminology is for the forms, but that paperwork, already signed by him (i refuse all blood, etc.
), is in the trash.

WOW, all I can say is wow. Maybe he feels very dissalusioned with the Org and wants his children to have life, but still is conflicted as to what to do with his own thoughts.
I think all you can do is show your continued support for him until he's ready to talk.

From what I have heard, other countries in Europe handle post partum depression differently than here in the US. I'm curious to hear what the people from the UK think of this.
Personally I think her husband also need to share in the guilt, she had already been committed and had been showing signs of severe stress and depression but he chose (as supposedly a sane person) to not only let her care of her children but also get her pregnant again and again. Instead of easing her burdens and getting her help, his answer was to have more kids, it didn't make sense to me.

There must be a reason. I wouldn't mention it either, but maybe be extra loving to him and see if there is anything he wants to talk about. He might have something brewing in his heart but can't find the words to say.
Personally I think my mother is disturbed by the change in the blood card that allows fractions. I think she thinks it's wrong, so he might actually want to keep his old one and is bothered by the new one. That's just a guess though.

You should also look into how many people die from STAPH infection, and also reaction to ANESTHESIA. Did you know that lots of healthy people go into hospitals and get staph and end up dying from it? What can you do about that?
I have worked in hospitals as a student, I have witnessed surgeries, and have worked with Doctors. I didn't end up making it my profession but I was around it long enough to know that without medicine we would be chit up a creek. With every medical advance there are risks and death.
About making money off blood, what is your point? The manufacturers of Tylenol make money too, does that make me sick? Not really. It doesn't bother me a bit. It's the individuals choice to donate blood, we are aware they make money off of it. Thanks for the breaking news. FYI it actually costs money to process and screen blood too. It's not direct from vein to vein... storage, handling, processing costs add up. The Red Cross is a great organization, they are in fact helping out Thailand and donating all sorts of help to people. For every dollar that the Red Cross collects 91% goes directly to helping people.
What help is the Watchtower doing? So if the Red Cross is "making money" I think that is a good thing, it's actually paying for water and food and supplies to victims of tragedy. I live in FL and we got hit by 3 hurricanes this year. Our house had roof damage twice. The Red Cross set up a shelter about a mile from my house and were there for MONTHS. They have away tons of stuff. I saw it with my own eyes. So, pretty much congratulate them for their wise use of money.

The real clue is the word WORLDWIDE where they have unsafe medical practises in almost all they do.
Look at the tsunami victims, do you see any clean hospitals? sterile areas? they work with what they have. Worldwide includes Africa and India. That is my point.
yep, "godly obedience" is the theme for this years district convention.. you know the wts will be hot on obedience this year.. expect more wt articles asking for money (as obedience to jehovah), asking for more pioneers and elders, and making this a matter of obedience.. it's getting worse.. at the meeting this week, a whole 25 minutes was taken up on what to do regarding accomodation at the district convention.. brother zealous said if we're not obedient to the instructions that the faithful slave has given us, we undermine the hard work the society puts in to arrange these provisions.. godley obedience means we will attend all three days at our convention.. .
this cult makes me sick.
everything is about jehovah; jesus just does not figure in anything, unless they feel the need to quote a scripture or something.. .
