Well that is the only good job left for the guys... all the heavy duty jobs like pioneering is always left up to the women.

Female elders
by glitter inwhen did you first realise the society wouldn't allow women to be an ms or an elder?
i remember being seven or eight and playing dolls with an elder's daughter in her bedroom.
my doll was meeting up with her doll at the convention after not seeing each other for a long time.

Special announcment 20 march fore JW ?
by happy man insomeone informed me today that in two months time there will be a "special announcement" to all congregations.
everyone must be present at the kingdom hall for it.
my elders already know what it is, but won't tell me.

I love having the inside scoop. I think it's hilarious, that the better informed you are means that you are on the outside.

I found most JW men to get off on that headship stuff. I don't have any advice for you, but we know you're right and he's wrong. And that is all there is to it!
Learn to roll your eyes at the stuff.

It's my one and only addiction. I truly love it. I watched the pilot and have stayed glued every Sunday night since.
I love it! I know it's trashy and doesn't do a darn thing to educate or improve me, but I guess that is what I love the most!

Anyone Tried Online Dating Sites?
by eljefe inafter reading this thread, i started wondering whether online dating sites work well.
has anyone had any success with dating sites?
if so, which one?

was just giving my one sided view as a woman on the sites... but I agree that might be true. I don't know though because I never went in search of any gals.

I did and always had success. I'm not sure if I'm lucky or just date different types of guys. I used match.com and went out with several different guys. My area has lots of technology based businesses, so there are a lot of single guys that are technicians, engineers, meaning geeks and dorks. At first I wouldn't date a geek, then found out they are absolutely the best at everything (interpret that any way you want to) so I dated a few engineers and didnt' really click with any of them, but continued to date and finally found my husband. He is the best guy and I got him. He was single, my age, educated, clean cut, no criminal history, good job, funny, no baggage, no kids, and we hit it off right away. He gave me the most romantic proposal EVER and we had the most beautiful wedding 22 months after we met.
So I think there are plenty of sucess stories. It just depends on if you are looking for the guys who are into driving sports cars and working out all the time and are the players, or you want someone that is a real person looking for a relationship. I think there are lots of guys who get on there just to get a one night stand.

Lawyers Who Deal With Disfellowshipping
by dh inis there a directory of lawyers who have experience in helping jw's with judicial df'ing issues?
what i mean by helping, is a lawyer who knows the df procedure, and will inform the elders that he/she will be attending the judicial meeting with the person etc.
if the elders refuse point blank to allow it, then a lawyer who knows how to pressure them so that they cannot announce the disfellowshipping or ever speak about it, as it would be slander would be very useful.. i think that there should be (may already be) lawyers out there who up to speed on this, and if they aren't, they should be brought up to speed by us, the ex jw community on what to expect from judicial meetings, and on the whole jw procedure of disfellowshipping etc.

Does the WT have any accredited schools?
by Preston inwhen i was a jw i heard that wt had a few schools for bible training or teaching that were accredited.
true?
not true?

I believe to be accredited your curriculum has to meet certain standards which would include reference books and more scholarly works than the unknown authors of the WTS's books. I don't think they could ever become accredited, although I don't know for sure.
