You know, I have never had the desire to ever be "reinstated" because I could care less what those elders opinions of me are.
They DF'd me via the phone because I wouldn't meet with them.
hi does anyone know what the procedure is for reinstatement?
i love this forum- you guys are all great.

i am so angry - i've been a long term lurker here and an occasional poster but i have just got to offload tonight.
mom and i have never been 'in the truth' but my dad and 2 brothers are.
tonight my dad told me that last night he resigned as an elder (which for me personally is great) but the reason is that because both my parents have health issues, especially mom, my dad has been given 6 months to get his act together and put some more hours in field service as he is 'not leading by example'.
It makes me sad for your Dad. I am sure he's thought he's been doing everything right, but maybe this is what it will take for him to see the LIGHT, maybe the LIGHT is getting brighter.
Again, I'm sorry for you and your family.
it makes you wonder when exactly the governing body and their lawyers decided to change the "generation of 1914" doctrine.
the first quotation below is from the 1992 wt and the second one from the 1993 brochure the purpose of life, just two lousy years before they imfamously dropped the whole idea:
*** w92 5/1 p. 7 the 1914 generation?why significant?
I do think some of the masses DO know in their own hearts, but they have devout parents or grandparents and they can't let go of everything they know and their families.
I think as time continues, with the older generation dying off, things will change... the younger generation can't possible buy into this 1914 = Armeggedon crap anymore. It's PROVEN to be untrue.
i've read on here several times about how jws are discouraged for doing charitable work for anybody other than jws, and that they are discouraged from contributing financially to non-jw charities.
are there some references to this in their literature that someone could point me to?.
also, i had a discussion with a jw about a recent relief effort some jws did in florida.
AHA!
Well, I live in Central Florida and my mother is an active Witness. It was very strange, but she showed up at my house last night to drop a present off. I got married almost 3 months ago and she decided to give us a gift.
Anyways, she showed up covered in tar and dirt and said she's been volunteering with the "roofing project" that the JWs are doing. 3 weekends out of the month they all get together in groups and she's part of 1 roofing group and they do a roofing job for a JW who lost their roof in the hurricanes. She said it's every Sat & Sun, and they get 1 weekend off a month to go out in service. She said that it's all volunteers for the labor and that the Watchtower Society is paying for ALL THE MATERIALS including the FOOD. She said they get drinks and food every time they show up.
I asked her, "what about the homeowner when he gets his insurance check in the mail? Wouldn't the homeowner then be making out like bandit by not having to pay for materials or labor?" She shrugged it off and said she didn't know if everyone had insurance or what they were getting, it didn't matter, that Jehovah was taking care of his people.
I plan on calling the Soceity myself and asking because I lived in FL during Hurricane Andrew about 12 years ago and all the local congregations that weren't affected were asked to donate to a special "Hurricane andrew fund" and we all donated big money... then I know that money went specifically to the victims. My theory is that other congregations nationwide have donated funds and the watchtower is allocating it in the form of materials at wholesale cost to repair roofs. BUT - the money hasn't come from the general fund, it's coming directly from the people who have donated money, meaning it's coming from other people's pockets, not really the Society.
My mother by the way is older, dirt poor, and is helping because she thinks it's the right things to do. I would hate for them to be profiting from her labors. But there isn't anything I can say or do about it.
i am a bit fuzzy, but i always remembered that the "faithful and discreet slave" were the annointed members of the governing body and that they were led by jehovah god.... of course according to the wts.. now, as they get older and other wts corporations have been formed and the president of the wts himself isn't of the "annointed" then what happens when the "annointed" governing body members who represent the "faithful and discreet slave" die off?.
where is the intermediatary between the regular jw's and jehovah?
what will happen to the light that kept getting brighter?
but that isn't going to work forever. I am talking in another 20 years or so. There will be no way to reasonably explain that.

there's an article at the official wastetower, entitled "did god condone the slave trade?".
the article tries to justify slavery in the bible by saying that it was different from slavery among other people (non-jews and non-christians).
I thought we were all supposed to be slaves for God?
Or how about the novel concept of FREEDOM? Wasn't that what GOd gave Adam & Eve originally in the Garden of Eden? Freedom ?
i recently stopped studying and haven't told the "teacher" woman the whole truth--that i don't believe the 'truth' is the truth.
i have my reasons why, and have been pondering on it for months now.
what's the best way to say this; or better yet, is there a good way to get my point across without being preached to as to why i should go on and get baptized like i had planned.
You don't always have to give reasons, or justify your decisions. Religion should be a personal choice. You don't need to defend your personal choices. That is between you and God.
I would politely say that you're not interested anymore, the subject isn't up to discussion (so they don't attack you) and just politely say that you have a personal relationship with God, you pray, and it's all been settled.
hey, guys, i'm sorry if i did anything to offend you yesterday.
i havent had alcohol in over 14 years, but i was having a psychotic experience.
a bad case of ... (brummie dots) ... triggered it.. for a while there i thought i had found the true source of the unverse in ... (brummie dots) ... and i wanted to make sure all of mankind knew of ... (brummie dots) ... and that all they required to be worshipped was a little .
I thought the best hangover cure was Krystal burger, Taco Hell, and ice cold Coke.
I wouldn't know though (batting eyelashes innocently) since I have never been drunk.
a friend of mine just lost his young 4 year son in a sleigh accident.
the child ( the same age as my young caroline) sledded down the front hill of his property into the path of an on coming school bus.
terrible tragedy.. my wife and i ; who have known them for some time; must attend the service this eveing.
That is so tragic.
I think it's important to be there in the coming weeks and months when things get lonely and the cards stop coming. This is so sad.
hey, prophets of doom, if you were to write an abstract of a screenplay for a movie about the collapse of the watchtower what would be the final nail in the coffin?
make it as serious or as preposterous as you like.. here's two scenarios to begin with.
english is not my first language, so naturally yours may be much more entertaining.. .
Realisticly, the younger generation of children will grow up and as their aging controlling dogmatic parents die off, they drift away until there is no one left to "accept responsibility" and no one is lining up to run to Bethel.
Fictionally, a rare disease comes out and the only cure is that everyone has to take a vaccine that is made of a rare animal's blood. All Jehovah's Witnesses refuse to accept the shot and they all die from the rare disease. The few that did get the shot, live and finally are free.
