I would definitely complain.
They did door to door work, businesses, phone territory, and now leaving them in mailboxes?? No way. The day I receive a magazine, is the day I file a formal complaint with the USPS.
[first...there are about 3 or 4 kh's in my city.
over the summer, they moved people into their proper congregations based on territory.
although i'd never gone to the closest hall, this is where the magazines came from per the return address.].
I would definitely complain.

i am 23 years old.
for 21 years, i have shut my brain out from the most beautiful of things.
i never knew the beauty of books by carl sagan.
The thing is you're young. It's a good thing you're 23, you have a whole life ahead of you. If you were 63, then you'd really be in bad shape.
I left when I was 20 and I had a lot of catching up to do.. and I did. I still attend college because I can only go part time. I will finish, and you will too. Don't be too bitter, because at least you have proof that you are intelligent and can lead an information enriched life, you're not a blind follower, you are willing to question, you are willing to learn. Your childhood is always dictated by your parents/caregiver. You've become an adult now, so it is your responsibility to make the right decisions for your life. You have plenty of time to do it!
Congratulations on not letting your mind rot, I am a firm believer in education. You will do great in life. Check back in another 23 years and let me know where you are by then!
i just had an interesting experience today.
i ran into an old ex-friend that had just been released from prison.
he was sentenced for selling pot to the highschool girls he coached for soccer and for sleeping with underage girls.
When I was a teenager, a convicted murderer on death row was studying and was set to get baptized, he ended up flaking out at the last minute because of smoking but he was going to get baptized. It was all just too much for me.
last week my mother gave me a woman's magazine that she had read at the home where she lives.
it had organization tips and recipes she thought i would enjoy.
i hadn't looked at it until two days ago, after she asked me if i had read it yet.
oprah's diet is she is not eating anything white and processed. Yes, she eats whole grains, but no white breads, rice, cakes, etc. Eats more lean protein, 2 fruits a day, and lots of veggies. Her workout is something like 45 mins a day of cardio 5 days a week, 3 days a week she does weights, and on the 6th day she increases the cardio to an hour and a half.
It's basically the diet we all know and should do, eat healthy and exercise your butt off.
Oprah always has educational programs, some days it's just fluff, but I enjoy it on the rare occasion I see it... but I agree that most TV is more educational that sitting through your average meeting or reading those mags. We watch the History channel, Discovery, and the Food Network. I learn something new everyday usually.
just got off the phone with the judicial committee, the same one that i blew off last sunday.
i wasn't even sure they'd call, but come to think of it, i think that's just what they're supposed to do if i don't show up.
they called as a conference call (none of them has been willing to talk to me on the phone alone!
I will tell you my new quote,
Better to be hated for who you are, than loved for who you are not.
I'm truly sorry, but people all have a choice, they don't have to be followers, if they shun you, it's just as much their fault as it is the WTS.

I really wonder who READS the mags... I mean I know people get them, but actually sits down and READS them??? Very few. I know I hated reading them.
I do love Oprahs magazine though and her new one talks about dieting, she's working out 6 days a week... really busts her butt. I can't seem to want to lose weight that badly to work out 6 days a week.
that comment has been made a number of times.
since jehovah loves those he disciplines, short of stoning one, this is god's way of saying, i love you"......stupid, huh?
It's the same as the parent who beats their child and says "I am doing this because I love you" ... humph, really?
i have been dfed/daed for nearly 7 years now.
long story.
anyway my mom has shunned me ever since.
Whether or not she's a JW, she is responsible for her own choices and her own actions. That is what I remind myself when I feel hurt and rejected by my mother.
We are all adults, you know you remind your kids to play nice in the sandbox, to share, etc... and it's sad when adults can't figure out the same principles.
She is accountable for her actions and treatment of you, even if she was influenced.
for years i have felt i was the only one on earth that was reeling from my involvement with jw.
i stumbled upon this website and feel an overwhelming desire to dance.
here is my story:.
WELCOME!
I think many of us went through that same phase, turns out there's a whole lot of us!!!
this is a sort of parallel thread to the drunken noah thread.
the genesis account of angels 'materialising' and having sex with women always worried me as a witness.
in all animals, man included, the sex drive is hormonal.
I also believe Frenchy has it right. The bible was written by men, so it has their viewpoint and slant on everything.
Can you imagine though, being a girl and telling your girlfriend that some hot angel that came down from heaven screwed you last night??? Seriously.
