  why all the racismn within the world .

  ,personaly i cant understand it,i know people can be racist against culture,but colour ,come of it.

  ,jesus was brown ,mosess was black he had to be living in egypt ,have angels got a colour if not why not ,dont be afraid to answer as i wont hold it against you if you dont ,me i have great friends from all nationalitys .have you transended from the obligitory type cast person that you were born has your life been enriched by meeting someone of another culture, i know we have been richly rewarded.

  I guess we have a rhetorical question from nightwarrior and he makes a point against racism.

  Anyone with half a mind can see the wisdom of accepting all people ,whatever colour we may be . I have sadly observed that some are easily persuaded otherwise when something happens locally or personally to them. eg, the media is full of stories about illegal immigrants scrounging, or the government wants to start a war against someone,or they come across an unpleasant individual.

  I believe we have to rise above all that and keep our human values to our fellow man "Peace on Earth, good will to all men" and so on......

  man they used to come up with some corny topics, and even worse covers.

  it made an already unbearable task even worse.

  the top of the crap pile for me was trying to place a magazine entitled the salty drink that saves lives.

  I once wondered why the owner of a shop turned me away with such vehemence and anger, then i looked again at the Watchtower I had offered him and a second headline on the cover said "Homosexual Priests ........" I am sure he thought I was promoting it .

  Admittedly not a front cover headline but my favourite article title has got to be

  "Sex Before Marriage - Why it Hurts" sometime in the 80's

  Where do I go for support???

  i would love some support since i am scared and confused, but i don't know where to turn.

  my husband and i are both having our eyes opened wide after years of doubts.

  we have finally read the "apostate literature" over the past few weeks and have checked and rechecked their sources.

  well, i knew it would happen sooner or later.

  one of the two witnesses who work at my office called me last night, delicately mentioned that she had "heard" i was celebrating birthdays and christmas and wanted to know what the hell was going on.

  I guess that we all have to deal with things the way we see best, but i am resolved that when my time inevitably comes, I will treat it as a legal, judicial matter . So therefore say nothing that would be a confession , dont forget that they need two witnesses . say nothing - spin it out waste their time as much as possible , play their own game... have fun!

  when you were active, did you buy any lottery tickets?

  i know a xjw who told me that he never stopped buying lottery tickets, even when he was active.

  he always asked somebody else to go get them for him, so that he wouldn't be seen buying them.

  The last Judicial Committee that I sat upon was a sad case of gambling . The P/o had told me that the miscreant was guilty of playing the lottery , but when we got to it , it transpired that he had just purchased some charity scratchcards. And been shopped by one of his family!

  We still gave him the full treatment, and I am sorry now to say that I took the lead in chastising him and pointing out the seriousness of his actions and that it was inconpatible with Christian conduct (Isaiah 65: 11)

  JWs and Xmas

  in today's copy of the scotsman there's an article on people that don't celebrate christmas for a variety of reasons and sure enough a witness family are featured.

  they are spending christmas day on the beach in the canary islands and after pointing out the fact that the 25th is christ's birthday go on to say.

  "it would be churlish to say that our children are not affected by peer pressure about christmas, but we feel bigger issues are at stake - independant thought and standing up for what you believe in.

  I was already inactive by the time that Data Protection came into the U K , but the comments that I remember second hand were that "Elders would rely on Holy Spirit and their memories" when dealing with re instatement hearings.

  If your elders followed instructions, there will be nothing for them to send you a copy of.

  yeah..............my parents told me when i was 5 that i would never get to high school, as this evil system of things would end long before that!!

  well....here i am, pushing 30. i had to go to hs, college, and even get a job!!

  And you think you are hard done by? , with a good 50 years ahead of you!

  Many of us were in our 50's before we wised up, call me a slow learner. Ok I have no serious money worries but as time goes by and compulsory retirement looms closer, I dont know how we will manage. And of course I know of many others in far worse positions.

  A friend of my wife's , has a husband who is self employed buildng contractor - no pension plan of course , he has been told by doctors to stop working but they just could not manage.

  Happy Man is of course winding us up in his fake pidgin English. But his smug attitude is typical of some smart alecs,usually elders now, who started a business to pioneer then found it could pay well and end up as wealthy businessmen - sickening!

  thanks for sharing your experiences and ideas about how people leave.

  themes were that people leave when they are ready, when they take an honest look at their beliefs and open their mind up to information from outside of the organisation, and i guess, other personal factors.

  the timing and individual are important here.

  Well put, to both earlier posters

  Lets face it , many just dont have the guts to really question their beliefs because the emotional cost is far too great. Can they admit to themselves that they have been wrong all these years?

  Do they want to face it? Much safer to stay in the same groove,keep the same friends ,stay where you are liked and respected .

  It was very hard for me to admit these things to myself - to recognise that i had largely wasted my life pursueing a cause that is just not true. It took a special event to shake me out of the rut ,otherwise I might still be there - trying to "Build up my spirituality " when the obvious questions crossed my mind
