every day it is simple cereal. A treat would be an "Eggs Royale" at our local pub/restaurant. That is an eggs benedict without the ham but smoked salmon instead

Very happy young drum player
by Sour Grapes inwhen i saw this young boy play the drums i was really impressed by his talent and the joy that he has.
for some strange reason, i thought of how his life would change if his parents studied with the jdubs and became witnesses.
i could see how the boy's life would change.

Yea.... that boy can play!
I hope he goes on to make a success of a musical career. ....As the op suggests, if he were born into a dub family, or perhaps other restrictive religions/cultures he would have no chance of making a career out of what he obviously loves.
I have known one or two young witnesses who had musical ability. Who knows if it would have led to a career? but of course they were stopped once they got to a point that it started to interfere with the all important Ministry. One lass told me she was unable to enjoy an orchestra now , it made her sad to think that she might have been there

Had one for ages....I love it.
She reminds when it's time. To take medicine, she gets me up in the morning, tells me time in the dark, the state of local traffic etc etc
I wouldn't be without her now

Yes, well worth seeing. Food for thought. Amazing statement by G Losch, technically true but disengenuous.
A very skilled presenter. The Borg could do with his style.

Would You Stop Buying A Product Because of Political Differences?
by minimus inwould you stop buying nike products because you didn’t like their politics?
conversely, would you give business to a company because you liked their political stand on a matter?
would you stop watching an entertainer because you disagree with their political perspectives?

No , I just look for the best value and service. Many of the complaints against companies spoken of here are news to me.
All firms exist for one reason only ... to make money . That inceases the share value for the all important investors. That is the end of it, that is our capitalist society.
I do not trust an advertised " ethical stand" if they make one.

I have worked at Chelmsford
by Val2020 ini have worked at chelmsford .
everybody seems so happy, but i couldn’t help wondering why all these volunteers give up their time and money, working for free for the future bethelites to live in such luxury .
all all the volunteers working there now will be kicked out on the street next year, with the lucky few laughing at the poor suckers who irked for free making this new bethel so amazing .

A quote :
"Have you seen the residential properties for sale in London?! Where the org top men reside? Luxury is an understatement"
I saw the estate agent's pics of the properties in the state they were offered for sale. Were they as "done up" when the Bethelites lived there? How many lived in them? Do we have confirmation that a bigwig had a house all to himself?
If so I will be pleased to join the indignant ones.

Head Coverings for Women
by Diogenesister inwatchtower's ignorance around the historical background to many biblical directives has had a very negative effect on the lives of witnesses.. for instance paul said women should cover their heads because in corinth prostitutes walked the streets plying for business with their heads uncovered.
hence head coverings were never a symbol of headship but a directive very specific to that period, as was the blood directive!!.
watchtower leaders have been lawyers, businessmen, civil servants and door-to-door book salesmen, never, ever historians or biblical scholars.

Christian Guy.
I enjoyed reading your post. I am not sure that I agree with your conclusions but it was a good read and made me want to read those scriptures again, in full context.

Overlapping Generations
by Lost in the fog inperhaps this explains why the gb have a fixation with time and chronology.
also why they keep their adherents in a prison away from the real world.
lol.

If You Could Live In Any Era or Decade What Would It Be?
by minimus ini kind of like the 50’s and early 60’s because of the innocence and “happy days” outlook by that generation.
it seems most people were pretty innocent and real.. would you rather be living in a different era or is this century working for you?

I say that my time period has been the best to live in. The baby boomers born soon after WW2. We enjoyed the steady rise in affluence during the 50s and 60s, we had the best music in the 60s to early 70s ( IMHO) We experienced no wars or hardship on home soil.
I am glad to be in the last part of my life now, though. As time goes by I find it harder and harder to relate to the modern world of digital tech. , struggling economy, changing social habits and standards, and what sounds to me rotten music. !
